    Abstract: PURPOSE:To obtain a molded article of fluorine resin useful in fields of water treatment or purification of drug, etc., having excellent heat resistance, chemical resistance, shape-enduing property, ion-exchange property, adsorbing property and separating property comprising fluorine resin having aromatic compound in side chain through ether bonding. CONSTITUTION:(A) At least one compound expressed by formula I to formula V (Rf is fluoroalkyl group) and vinyl-based fluorine resin containing CH2 (preferably polyvinylidene fluoride, etc.) are molded to any shape (preferably porous membrane) from molten or solution state and subjected to reaction treatment in the presence of aromatic alkyl alcohol and basic compound to afford a molded article of fluorine resin having aromatic compound in side chain through ether bonding. Otherwise, (B) cation-exchange group (e.g., sulfonic acid group), anion-exchange group, chelateexchange group or crown ether group is further introduced into aromatic compound in the side chain of the composition A to afford the second aimed molded article of fluorine resin.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To readily obtain the subject hydroxysilane-containing solution for coating by reacting an alkoxysilane, etc., in a short time using an ion-exchange fiber prepared by dispersing an island component consisting of a multi-core type conjugated fiber into a sea component consisting of an ion-exchange group- containing polymer and crosslinking the sea component for insolubilization thereof as a catalyst. CONSTITUTION:An objective solution for coating is obtained by using (A) 100 pts.wt. alkoxysilane (tetramethoxysilane, etc.), (B) 50-200 pts.wt. water and (C) a catalyst consisting of an ion-exchange fiber prepared by dispersing (ii) plural island component filaments consisting of a fiber forming polymer (polyethylene, etc.) in an amount of 20-80wt.% into (i) 20-80wt.% sea component composed of an ion-exchange group-containing polymer (e.g. prepared by sulfonating polystyrene using trimethylamine, reacting sodium monochloroacetate with the resultant product to react a weak acid type, etc., including carboxylic acids) and consisting of a core type conjugated fiber composed of the above mentioned continuous island component in the longitudinal direction and the sea component in which the polymer constituting the sea component is crosslinked and insolubilized.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To obtain the title flocked product excellent in form processability, having high ion exchange ability, thus suitable for toxic substance-preventive filters, etc., by introducing core yarn into a space between a pair of specific electrodes, and during the process, implanting the adhesive layer on the core yarn with specific pulp. CONSTITUTION:Core yarn 50-50000 in total denier peripherally coated with an adhesive is introduced into a space between (A) at least a pair of electrodes with positive voltage applied on one of them and negative voltage on the other and either of the voltages put to pole change to form an electrostatic field so that attractive and repulsive forces are alternately act between both the electrodes, (B) a pair of electrodes with positive voltage applied on one of them and negative voltage on the other to form an electrostatic field so that an attractive force acts, or (C) at least a pair of electrodes with either positive or negative voltage applied on both the electrodes to form an electric field so that a repulsive force acts; during the process, the adhesive layer on the core yarn is implanted with pulp prepared by cutting a fibrous ion exchange form 0.1-10meq/g in the amount of ion exchange group to a length of 0.1-3mm.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To obtain the title molded item having excellent pressure resistance and being especially suitable for instrumental analyses such as ionic liq. chromatography, by providing ion exchange groups on the inner wall face of a hollow molded item made of an org. polymer. CONSTITUTION:The title molded item is a hollow molded item made of an org. polymer (when a liq. is passed through the inside of the hollow molded item, it is pref. that the liq. neither permeates through nor breaks the inner wall and the inner diameter is 10-3,000mu) and has ion exchange groups on the inner wall face. When a high pressure is applied, conventional ion exchange resins and ion exchange fibers are densely filled to increase the resistance to liq. flow and the shapes are eventually broken. The ion exchange hollow molded item of the present invention has excellent pressure resistance and high freedom of the shape in comparison with the conventional ion exchange products. When this tube is bent to form a coil shape, etc., an effective area can be sufficiently ensured. It can be effectively used in the field of instrumental analysis such as ionic liq. chromatography where especially high separation efficiency is required.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To obtain the subject hollow yarn membrane excellent in chemical and heat resistance, by spinning a spinning solution consisting of a specific fluororesin with an internal injecting solution having low coagulating property and then treating the resultant yarn with a solution of concentrated sulfuric acid and formaldehyde. CONSTITUTION:The aimed hollow yarn membrane obtained by dissolving a fluororesin, such as polyvinyldiene fluoride, consisting of constituent units expressed by the formula -CF2-, -CFRf- and/or -CF(ORf)- in combination with constituent units expressed by the formula -CH2-, -CHF- and/or CClF-, in a polar organic solvent, preferably acetone, dimethyl sulfoxide, etc., to prepare a spinning solution, then spinning the above-mentioned spinning solution using a liquid having low coagulation property for the afore-mentioned fluororesin as an internal injecting solution to form a fluororesin based porous hollow yarn membrane having a gradient type cellular structure and subsequently treating the resultant hollow yarn membrane with a solution consisting of concentrated sulfuric acid and a formaldehyde source.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To enhance water softening efficiency by packing a specific cation type ion exchange fiber layer and cation type ion exchange resin layer into this water softener. CONSTITUTION:The cation type ion exchange fiber layer of an Na type and the cation type ion exchange resin layer of an Na type are packed into the water softener to 1/100-1/1 diameter ratio. Short fibers of 1-100mu diameter, filament yarn, felt, non-woven fabrics, etc., are used for the ion exchange fibers. The ion exchange resins sized 10-1,000mu are preferably used. Hardness components are thereby economically and completely removed with the small size.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To obtain a sheet-like material which has excellent performance for removing fine particles and a long removing life and can refine chemical products, water, etc. by mixing and dispersing ion exchange fiber floc bodies and glass fibers and forming the sheet-like material. CONSTITUTION:This sheet-like material made of the ion exchange fibers for highly refining liquid and gases of chemical products, water, air, etc., consists of the mixed dispersion composed of the ion exchange fibers and glass fibers. The ion exchange fibers are formed by reinforcing the sea components consisting of polystyrene fibers contg. the exchange group having ion exchangeability, etc., with the island component such as polyalpha-olefin. Such ion exchange fibers are partially branched or divided to the floc bodies and thereafter the fibers are mixed with the glass fibers and the sheet is formed of such mixture. The resulted sheet-like material has small filtration resistance and the long filter life and is also effective for removing ultrafine particles.
