Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a robot system including a conventional robot commonly with relatively-simplified moving platform and also with a voice-synthesis function of a certain kind for uttering a plurality of words and the voice while achieving monitoring a remote patient and auxiliary functions. SOLUTION: The robot has a camera and a monitor which are attached to a housing. The robot is further attached to the housing and also has a platform linked with a controller. The controller is linked with a broadband interface. COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT
Abstract:
A portable telepresence apparatus that is adapted to be coupled to a remote station that has a station monitor, a station camera, a station speaker and a station microphone, comprising: a housing; a first camera coupled to said housing; a monitor that is coupled to said housing and is adapted to display images captured by the station camera; a speaker that is coupled to said housing and is adapted to generate a sound provided through the station microphone; a microphone coupled to said housing; a battery coupled to said housing; a wireless transceiver coupled to said housing; and a viewfinder screen coupled to said housing.
Abstract:
A tele-presence system that includes a cart. The cart includes a robot face that has a robot monitor, a robot camera, a robot speaker, a robot microphone, and an overhead camera. The system also includes a remote station that is coupled to the robot face and the overhead camera. The remote station includes a station monitor, a station camera, a station speaker and a station microphone. The remote station can display video images captured by the robot camera and/or overhead camera. By way of example, the cart can be used in an operating room, wherein the overhead camera can be placed in a sterile field and the robot face can be used in a non-sterile field. The user at the remote station can conduct a teleconference through the robot face and also obtain a view of a medical procedure through the overhead camera.
Abstract:
A remote controlled robot system that includes a robot and a remote control station that communicate through a communication network. Communication with the robot is limited by a firewall coupled to the communication network. A communication server establishes communication between the robot and the remote control station so that the station can send commands to the robot through the firewall.
Abstract:
A proctoring system that includes a communication device coupled to a remote station. The remote station has a visual display that displays first information relating to an action that causes an effect on an object, and simultaneously displays second information relating to the effect on the object. The remote station includes at least one input device that allows a communication to be transmitted by an operator to the communication device. By way of example, during the deployment of a heart stent, a specialist doctor may remotely view real-time fluoroscopy imagery and patient hemodynamics. The specialist can remotely proctor medical personnel on the proper orientation and timing requirements for installing the stent.
Abstract:
Disclosed herein are various embodiments of the systems and methods for management of information among various medical providers and/or facilities. According to various embodiments, the systems and methods disclosed herein may facilitate the completion of location specific forms in a variety of formats by medical professionals. Certain embodiments may be employed by remotely located medical professional utilizing telemedicine technologies. Such systems may provide medical professionals utilizing telemedicine technologies with a consistent interface for gathering and inputting patient information, while continuing to allow for the use of a wide variety of forms by different medical providers and facilities. In addition to facilitating the use of location-specific forms, the systems and methods for management of information disclosed herein may also be used for the collection of patient care metrics.

A robot system that includes a remote station and a robot face. The robot face includes a camera that is coupled to a monitor of the remote station and a monitor that is coupled to a camera of the remote station. The robot face and remote station also have speakers and microphones that are coupled together. The robot face may be coupled to a boom. The boom can extend from the ceiling of a medical facility. Alternatively, the robot face may be attached to a medical table with an attachment mechanism. The robot face and remote station allows medical personnel to provide medical consultation through the system.
Abstract:
A remote controlled robot system that includes a robot and a remote control station. The robot includes a binaural microphone system that is coupled to a speaker system of the remote control station. The binaural microphone system may include a pair of microphones located at opposite sides of a robot head, the location of the microphones roughly coincides with the location of ears on a human body. Such microphone location creates a mobile robot that more effectively simulates the tele-presence of an operator of the system. The robot may include two different microphone systems and the ability to switch between systems. For example, the robot may also include a zoom camera system and a directional microphone. The directional microphone may be utilized to capture sound from a direction that corresponds to an object zoomed upon by the camera system.
