Abstract: PURPOSE: An in-wheel driving system and a control method thereof are provided to improve efficiency of power by controlling the driving with a plurality of motors of different performance. CONSTITUTION: An in-wheel driving system comprises a housing(10), a plurality of motors(120), and a power transmission unit(130). The housing is installed inside a wheel(10) connected to a tire(20), and a shaft(11) is rotatably installed in the housing. A plurality of motors comprises a first motor(120a) and a second motor(120b) and is installed in the housing in order to be connected to the shaft. The power transmission unit transmits each rotatory power of the motors to the shaft.

Abstract: PURPOSE: A torque control system for an independent drive unit of a vehicle is provided to analyze the wheel speed and torque of a driving vehicle and to offer an optimal value of torque for stably driving the vehicle by including a virtual constraint model part for calculating the right and left wheel speed and torque value of the vehicle required according to the driving status of the vehicle. CONSTITUTION: A torque control system for an independent drive unit of a vehicle (50) comprises a wheel speed/torque value collection part (10) for collecting the wheel speed and torque value of a driving vehicle; a constraint model part (20) for calculating the front and rear wheel speed, torque value and optimal drive value of the driving vehicle required for driving stability according to the driving status of the vehicle; and a wheel torque control part (30) for transmitting a control signal for right and left wheels according to the optimal drive value. A torque control method for the independent drive unit of a vehicle comprises the steps of: collecting actual drive values including the wheel speed and torque value of a driving vehicle by using the wheel speed/torque value collection part; calculating required drive values for a kinematic constraint model by using the constraint model part; comparing the required drive values with the actual drive values by using the constraint model part; and determining optimal drive values derived from the differences between the required drive values and the actual drive values.
