Abstract: PURPOSE: An EGR(Exhaust Gas Recirculation) cooler is provided to reduce NOx emissions and to prevent cooling efficiency reduction by controlling the cooling capacity of recirculating exhaust gas according to the speed and load of an engine for minimizing a fouling phenomenon due to over cooling. CONSTITUTION: An EGR cooler(10) comprise a cooling water cell(11), a plurality of gas tubes(12), a plurality of partition walls(13), a bypass flow passage(14), a guide vane(15), and a gas control valve(16). A plurality of gas tubes is installed inside the cooling water cell at a regular gap and passes recirculating exhaust gas through. A plurality of partition walls partitions a plurality of gas tubes into a plurality of gas inflow area(12a) and one gas outflow area(12b). The bypass flow passage shields one end of the cooling water cell and is separately connected to an exhaust manifold and an intake manifold. The guide vane shields the other end of the cooling water cell and guides the exhaust gas of the gas inflow area to the gas outflow area. The gas control valve is installed in the bypass flow passage. The gas control valve bypasses the recirculating exhaust gas from the exhaust manifold to the intake manifold or separately induces the recirculating exhaust gas to a plurality of gas inflow areas.
