Abstract: PURPOSE: An overspeed preventing apparatus is provided to generate an overspeed alarming signal when a vehicle travels at an overspeed by using a pretensioner which wounds or releases a seat belt. CONSTITUTION: A pretensioner(10) is installed at a lower end of a seat so as to wound or release a seat belt webbing(20). A motor(11) is installed at one side of the pretensioner(10). The motor(11) is connected to a winding gear(12) around which the seat belt webbing(20) is wound, so that the seat belt webbing(20) is wound or released according to the driving direction of the motor(11). When an ECU detects an overspeed signal, the ECU operates the motor(11) to wind the seat belt webbing(20) so as to alarm the overspeed to a driver.
