    Abstract: PURPOSE: An air bag device for a vehicle is provided to enhance the deploying force of a curtain air bag by a shock absorbing rib and to increase the safety of a passenger by a FMH(Free Motion Headform) structure. CONSTITUTION: An air bag device for a vehicle comprises a fixing unit(200) and a receiving unit(300). The fixing unit comprises a combining hole(220) and is fixed in a vehicle side-panel through the combining hole by a combining member. The receiving unit is formed in front of the fixing unit. The receiving unit consists of first and second horizontal parts(320,360) and a vertical part(340). The first and second horizontal parts cover an air bar and are protruded onto the front of the fixing unit. The vertical part connects the first and second horizontal parts. In order that the vertical part is broken in the deploying direction of the air bar, the breaking hole of the receiving unit is formed on the connecting part of the first horizontal part and the vertical part.

    Abstract: PURPOSE: A curtain airbag is provided to prevent damage to a pillar lamp by expanding an air lamp to a gap between a pillar and the pillar lamp when an air cushion is inflated. CONSTITUTION: A curtain airbag comprises a head lining(5), an air cushion(10), and an air lamp(30). The head lining is located on the top of a pillar trim(3). The air cushion is installed in the rear space part of the head lining. When shock is applied to a vehicle, the air cushion is expanded by gas pressure and is outward inflated. The air lamp guides the inflated direction of the air cushion in order to prevent the air cushion from being inflated to a gap between the pillar trim and a pillar(4). When the air cushion is inflated, the air lamp is exposed in order to allow the air lamp to cover the top of the pillar trim.
