Abstract: A method for indicating an acoustic location and a recording medium therefor, a method for receiving a sample from an acoustic source and a recording medium therefor, and an acoustic receiver are provided to determine the acoustic location by receiving a time stamped acoustic source sample. A method for indicating an acoustic location includes the steps of: sampling an acoustic source from a plurality of acoustic receiver(315); at the acoustic receiver, time-stamping each acoustic sample received in the plurality of acoustic receiver by using a system time(320); at each acoustic receiver, transmitting the time-stamped acoustic sample to a central controller(325); and at the central controller, determining the acoustic location in response to the receiving of the time stamped acoustic source sample from the plurality of receivers. Each acoustic receiver is synchronized with the system time by using a precision time protocol(330).

Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To restrain wasteful power consumption in non-usage and to improve responsiveness in restarting usage, in an input device such as a battery-driven cordless type computer mouse. SOLUTION: The input device 100 such as a computer mouse is equipped with a hand detection system 110 for detecting contact or proximity of a hand. The input device 100 has, in its inside: a sensor subsystem for detecting the motion of the input device 100; and a high-frequency signal source for transmitting the operation content of the input device 100 to a cordless peripheral device subsystem 202; and when a predetermined time elapses after the input device 100 comes into a non-use state, it comes into a sleep mode for restricting communication with the sensor subsystem and the high-frequency signal source. Abstract: A system and method of verifying metadata in a measurement processing system associates a combination of metadata is associated with a key or unique string, and the keys or strings are used to verify that operations performed using the measurements are valid based on the metadata of the respective measurements. There is at least one history cache in which a procedure looks up the unique string or key to verify validity. The key or string may be generated by hashing the types and values of the metadata and the operations are preferably performed by function blocks which are software modules programmed to perform specific functions.
