Abstract:
The invention relates to a tube which has been filled with an open-cell foam based on an amino resin, especially a melamine/formaldehyde condensation product, and to its uses, especially as a filter or static mixer.
Abstract:
Disclosed are a silicate-based foamed material which has a density of less than 25 kg/m 3 , an SiO 2 :Al 2 O 3 molar ratio of more than 20:1, and an SiO 2 :Me 2 O molar ratio of more than 50:1, wherein Me represents an alkali metal, the use thereof for heat insulation or sound-proofing purposes, and methods for the production thereof by mixing a dispersion of SiO 2 particles that have an average diameter ranging from 1 to 100 nm with a surfactant and a foaming agent at temperatures below 50 °C and expanding said mixture by heating the same to a temperature ranging from 60 to 100 °C or by relieving the pressure.
Abstract:
A method (M1) for the production of pre-expanded polystyrene particles (I) coated with water-absorbent polymer(s) (W), involves (a) pre-expanding particles of expandable polystyrene to give particles with a bulk density (DIN ISO EN 60) of 5-50 g/l and then (b) coating the particles with polymer (W). Independent claims are included for (1) polymer-coated, pre-expanded polystyrene particles (I) obtained by this method (2) molded parts (II) made from polystyrene foam obtained from (I) (3) a method (M2) for the production of (II) by filling (I) into a gas-permeable mold, reducing the volume by pressing the particles in the closed mold, hardening at 20-100[deg]C and then demolding the product (4) a method (M3) for the production of (II) by filling (I) into a mold, expanding the particles and welding them together in the closed mold at 60-120[deg]C, and then demolding the product .
