Abstract:
The invention relates to a foam material that is produced from a hydrophobic or oloephobic, open-pored foam matrix. Said matrix is impregnated with a substance consisting essentially of a polyvinylidene halide (co)polymer, which can optionally contain additional substituents and also optionally of a fluorocarbon resin and/or a silicone resin. The invention also relates to a method for producing said foam material.
Abstract:
The invention relates to a tube which has been filled with an open-cell foam based on an amino resin, especially a melamine/formaldehyde condensation product, and to its uses, especially as a filter or static mixer.
Abstract:
Use of moldings with length·width·height dimensions respectively in the range from 1 mm to 3 cm as dust binders in vacuum cleaners, where the molding(s) has/have been produced from chemically untreated open-cell foam whose density is in the range from 5 to 500 kg/m3 and whose average pore diameter is in the range from 1 μm to 1 mm.
Abstract:
Disclosed are a silicate-based foamed material which has a density of less than 25 kg/m 3 , an SiO 2 :Al 2 O 3 molar ratio of more than 20:1, and an SiO 2 :Me 2 O molar ratio of more than 50:1, wherein Me represents an alkali metal, the use thereof for heat insulation or sound-proofing purposes, and methods for the production thereof by mixing a dispersion of SiO 2 particles that have an average diameter ranging from 1 to 100 nm with a surfactant and a foaming agent at temperatures below 50 °C and expanding said mixture by heating the same to a temperature ranging from 60 to 100 °C or by relieving the pressure.
Abstract:
Use of moldings whose length width height dimensions are always in the range from 1 mm to 3 cm, at least one dimension being greater than 5.5 mm, produced by treatment of (a) open-cell foam whose density is in the range from 5 to 500 kg/m3 and whose average pore diameter is in the range from 1 mum to 1 mm (b) with an aqueous formulation of at least one compound having at least one hemiaminal or aminal group per molecule or at least one copolymer containing at least one copolymerized comonomer which contains OH groups or which contains beta-dicarbonyl groups, or which contains epoxy groups, (c) and a shaping step, as dust binders in vacuum cleaners.
Abstract:
A new car seat comprises a frame of polyolefin foam and a core of organic fibres, held together by a binder. Preferably, the seat comprises a back and seat region, each having a frame and core. A polypropylene particle foam with a density of 0.015-0.15 gm/cm is used. The matted fibres are 1-10 cm long, and are natural, e.g. cocoa-fibres. The binder is a vulcanised rubber or a cross-linked plastic resin. Frame and core are adhered together using a fibre fleece. The core may be integrated into the frame, without adhesion.
Abstract:
Mixture (A) comprises pieces of open-cell aminoplastic foam material with an average diameter of 50 mu m to 5 mm (average weight), water, at least one surfactant and optionally an oil phase or a fat phase. Independent claims are included for: (1) a method for cleaning surfaces comprising using (A) as the cleaning agent and (2) the preparation of (A).
