    Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a pressure sensitive adhesive having an improved adhesive power and/or cohesive power. SOLUTION: This adhesive consists of a polymer including 60 to 95 wt.% of a monomer mixture (monomer a) comprising one or more kinds of 4C alkylacrylate and one or more kinds of 6 to 12C alkylacrylate, 5 to 30 wt.% of ethylenic unsaturated compound(monomer b) excluding other functional groups except ethylenic unsaturated group and the polymer of this monomer has glass transition temperature >=0 deg.C, 0 to 10 wt.% of an ethylenic unsaturated compound (monomer c) including one or more acid group or acid anhydride group, and 0 to 20 wt.% of other ethylenic unsaturated compound (monomer d), the weight ratio in wt.% is based on the obtained polymer, and the polymer dispersion includes an emulsifier including at least 5 wt.% of aromatic carbon atoms (abbreviated as aromatic emulsifier) or an emulsifier mixture comprising at least 10 wt.% of the aromatic emulsifier.

After exposure to ultraviolet light or to electrons, these synthetic resins are suitable as contact adhesives.
