    Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a polymerization method of 2-8C alk-1-ene with a Ziegler- Natta catalyst composition for reducing or completely inhibiting coagulation the formation of deposition and sludge of the polymer particles. SOLUTION: A 2-8C 1-alkene is polymerized in the presence of a Ziegler- Natta catalyst composition in a cascade comprising at least two reactors. In a reactor 1, which may be linked to one or a plurality of reactors in the upstream, homopolymer or copolymer of l-alkenes is formed. The polymerization reaction mixture is discharged form the reactor l, and transferred to the subsequent reactor 2. The polymerization in the reactor 2 and the reactors that may be linked to the reactor 2 is carried out in the presence of a liquid or dissolved controlling agent for control the catalytic activity. The controlling agent is discharged from the reactor l and then added to the polymerization reaction mixture prior to being introduced in the reactor 2.

    Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a copolymer having high rigidity and a low chlorine content, by copolymerizing propylene with ethylene and a specified alkene in the absence of a liquid reaction medium under conditions in which the ratio among the partial pressures of the respective monomers is specified. SOLUTION: Propylene is copolymerized with ethylene and a 4-10 C 1-alkene in the absence of a liquid reaction medium under conditions in which the ratio of the partial pressure of propylene to that of ethylene is 20:1 to 100:1, and the ratio of the partial pressure of the 1-alkene to that of the ethylene is 2.5:1 to 20:1 in the presence of a Ziegler/Natta catalyst containing a titanium- containing solid component containing a halogen-containing magnesium, an electron donor and an inorganic oxide carrier, an aluminum compound and an electron donor mixture in a gas phase under a pressure of 15-40 bar at a temp. of 50-100 deg.C for 0.5-5 hr to obtain a random propylene copolymer having a number-average molecular weight of 20,000-50,000, a melt flow index of 0.1-100 g/10 min and a melting point (DSC) of 135 deg.C or below.

    Abstract: The invention concerns statistical propylene copolymers in which 0.1-20 wt.% is accounted for by polymerisation-incorporated ethylene and the xylene-soluble components (XL) satisfy the inequation (I) XL >/= 3,8 + 1,2 [C2], in which [C2] represents the proportion by weight of the polymerisation-incorporated ethylene; and the proportion in wt.% of isotactic triads [mm] or isotactic pentads [mmmm] as determined by C nuclear magnetic resonance spectroscopy lies within the range determined by the inequations (IIa) 96.0 wt.% >/= [mm] and (IIb) 94.0 wt.% >/= [mmmm]. The statistical propylene copolymers are suitable for use as foam particles and moulded parts.
