    Abstract: Partly crosslinked plastic materials with MFI 230/21.6 of 0.1-100 g/10 mins. (I) consist of (a) a polymer and (b) a bis-maleimide cpd. of formula (II). (I) are obtd. by reacting (a) with (b) at 180-280 deg.C and 1-100 bar with mean residence time of 0.2-10 mins. (a) comprises (a1) a polymer of 25-97 wt.% propylene copolymer with 0.1-15 wt.% 2-10C alkene units (A) and 3-75 wt.% other propylene copolymer with 15-80 wt.% 2-10C alkene units (B) or (a2) a polymer of 25-97 wt.% propylene homopolymer (C) and 3-75 wt.% (B) or (a3) a statistical copolymer of propylene with less than 15 wt.% 2-10C alkene units, or (a4) propylene homopolymer with MFI of 0.01-100 g/10 mins. In (II), R is 1-20C alkylene (opt. with in-chain O), 5-7C cycloalkylene or 6-15C arylene (both opt. substd. with 1-10C alkyl, 1-6C alkoxy and/or 1-4C dialkylamino gp(s). or a gp. of formula -R1-Z-R2- (with R1, R2 = 1-10C alkyleme, 5-7C cycloalkylene or 6-10C arylene (opt. substd. as for R), Z = 1-10C alkylene, 1-4C dialkylamino, O or SO2).

    Abstract: Propene homopolymers and copolymers with minor amts. of other 2-12C alpha-monolefins are produced by polymerisation at 20-160 deg.C and 1-100 bar with a Ziegler-Natta catalyst system. The catalyst system comprises: (1) a Ti component contg. Ti, Mg, Cl and a benzenecarboxylic acid deriv. on an inorg. oxidic support; (2) an Al component of the formula AlR3 (R = 1-8C alkyl); and (3) a silane component of the formula R1nSi(OR2)4-n (R1 = 1-16C aryl or alkyl; R2 = 1-15C alkyl; n = 0-3); in which the Ti:Al atomic ratio in (1):(2) = 1:10-800 and the (2):(3) molar ratio = 1:0.03-0.8. The novel features are that the Ti component (1) is prepd. as follows: (1.1) a solid precursor is prepd. from (I) finely-divided MgCl2, (II) a 1-8C alkanol, (III) a finely-divided porous inorg. oxidic support with a particle dia. of 1-1000 microns, pore vol. of 0.3-3 cc/g, surface area of 100-1000 m2/g and the formula SiO2. aAl2O3 (a = 0-2), (IV) TiCl4 and (V) a phthalic acid deriv. of the formula (V), where X+Y = O or X = Y = Cl or 1-10C alkoxy; (1.2) the solid precursor is subjected to single or multi-stage or continuous extn. with TiCl4 for 0.2-5 hrs. at 100-150 deg.C, using a total of 10-1000 pts.wt. TiCl4/10 pts.wt. solid precursor; and finally (1.3) the solid intermediate is extracted with (VI) until the solid contains 0.01-30 wt.% Ti.

    Abstract: The invention relates to the production of films from propene polymers, characterised in that propene polymers are employed which are obtained by continuous preparation of random copolymers of propene by polymerization of a monomer mixture by means of a Ziegel-Natta catalyst system in the gas phase in a central stirred bed of finely divided polymer with dissipation of the heat of polymerization by evaporative cooling, where the monomer mixture is constantly introduced into the polymerization zone and the polymer is constantly discharged from the polymerization zone, with the provisos that (a) the pressure and temperature in the polymerization zone are kept in a range which corresponds to the gaseous state of the monomer mixture, (b) gaseous, unconsumed monomer mixture is discharged from the polymerization zone and is re-introduced into the polymerization zone in liquid form, (c) the temperature in the polymerization zone is regulated by means of the amount of liquid monomer mixture introduced per time unit, and (d) the monomers consumed by polymerization are replaced, with the particular feature that - using a monomer mixture comprising principally propene, a little ethylene and very little hydrogen - the residence time of the monomer mixture in the polymerization zone is kept very short.

    Abstract: Polymers of propene are prepared using a Ziegler-Natta catalyst system consisting of (1) a titanium component which contains titanium, magnesium, chlorine and a benzenecarboxylic acid derivative on a carrier, (2) an aluminum component and (3) a silane component. The process employs a titanium component (1) which is obtained by a method in which (1.1) first a solid-phase intermediate is prepared from (I) magnesium chloride, (II) an alkanol, (III) a carrier which in turn consists of a finely divided inorganic oxide carrier material which has been pretreated with an alkylchlorosilane, (IV) titanium tetrachloride and (V) a phthalic acid derivative, in such a way that (1.1.1) first (I) is reacted with (II), (1.1.2) then the carrier (III) is introduced into the substance resulting from (1.1.1), (1.1.3) thereafter the solid-phase substance resulting from (1.1.2) is reacted with (IV) in a liquid hydrocarbon, with the proviso that (V) is also introduced in (1.1.1) or (1.1.2) or (1.1.3), the (1.2) the solid-phase substance resulting from (1.1) is extracted with titanium tetrachloride, and finally the solid-phase substance resulting from (1.2) is extracted with a liquid hydrocarbon.

    Abstract: The invention relates to the preparation of polymers of propene by means of a Ziegler-Natta catalyst system comprising (1) a titanium component containing titanium, magnesium, chlorine and a benzenecarboxylic acid derivative on an inorganic oxidic support, (2) an aluminium component and (3) a silane component, characterised in that a titanium component (1) is used which is obtained by (1.1) first preparing a solid-phase precursor from (I) magnesium chloride, (II) an alkanol, (III) the support, (IV) titanium tetrachloride and (V) a phthalic acid derivative in such a way that (1.1.1) first (I) is reacted with (II), (1.1.2) subsequently the support (III) is introduced into the product from (1.1.1), (1.1.3) the solid-phase product from (1.1.2) is then reacted with (IV) in a liquid hydrocarbon, with the proviso that (V) is also introduced during (1.1.1) or (1.1.2) or (1.1.3), then (1.2) the solid-phase product from (1.1) is extracted with titanium tetrachloride, and finally the solid-phase product from (1.2) is extracted with a liquid hydrocarbon.
