    Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain the subject composition comprising a specific titanium- containing solid component, a cocatalyst and an electron-donating compound and enabling the production of a polymer having a high bulk density and reduced in xylene and heptane-soluble contents. SOLUTION: This Ziegler/Natta type catalyst composition comprises (A) a Ti-containing solid component comprising a Ti compound, a Mg compound, a halogen, an inorganic oxide and a carboxylate ester as an electron-donating compound, (B) an aluminum compound as a cocatalyst, and selectively (C) one or more other electron-donating compounds. The inorganic oxide in the component A has a pH of 1-6, an average particle diameter of 5-200μm, an average primary particle diameter of 1-20μm, pore spaces and grooves of 0.1-20μm and the whole particle volume marcroshare of 5-30%. The catalyst can give polymers good in mechanical characteristics, and the polymers are suitable for producing shaped products such as films and fibers.

    Abstract: Catalyst systems of the Ziegler-Natta type containing as active components: a) a titanium-containing solid component in the production of which a titanium compound, a compound of magnesium, a halogenating agent and an electron donor component are used, b) an aluminium compound and c) as a further electron donor component, a silicon-organic compound of general formula (I): R R Si(OR )2 in which R is a C1-C10 alkyl radical or a C3-C18 cycloalkyl radical, R is a secondary butyl radical and R is a C1-C8 alkyl radical. The catalyst systems of the invention are particularly suitable for the production of C2-C10-alkyl-1-enes.

    Abstract: Propylene-ethylene copolymers having a melt flow index of from 2 to 200 g/min, at 230 DEG C and under a weight of 2.16 kg, are obtainable by two-step polymerisation from the gas phase in an agitated fixed bed in the presence of hydrogen as molecular weight regulator by means of a Ziegler-Natta catalyst system comprising a titanium-containing solids component which contains a magnesium compound on finely divided silica or alumina or an aluminosilicate of the empirical formula SiO2.aAl2O3, where a is a value of from 0.001 to 2, and an aluminium component, in which a) in a first polymerisation step, propylene is polymerised at a pressure of from 20 to 40 bar and a temperature of from 60 to 90 DEG C, the ratio between the partial pressures of hydrogen and propylene being set to from 1:100 to 10:100, and subsequently b) in a second polymerisation step, a mixture of propylene and ethylene is polymerised onto the propylene product from the first polymerisation step, at a pressure of from 10 to 30 bar, this pressure being at least 7 bar below the pressure in the first polymerisation step, at a temperature of from 40 to 100 DEG C, and the weight ratio between the monomers reacted in the first polymerisation step and those reacted in the second polymerisation step being set in the range from 1:1 to 20:1. t
