Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide novel polymers containing carboxyl groups and polyalkylene ether side-chains. SOLUTION: The water-soluble or water-dispersible polymers containing carboxyl groups and the side-chains represented by formula (I) is obtained by radically copolymerizing the polymer having carboxyl groups on the monomers to be polymerized, 3 to 50 wt.% of an ethylenic unsaturated monomers A selected from the group consisting of ethylenic unsaturated 3-6C mono-carboxylic acids and their salts, 50 to 97 wt.% of an ethylenic unsaturated monomers B bearing the side-chains of formula I in the presence of 0.1 to 50 wt.% of a phosphorus-containing compounds such as phosphinic acid or phosphonic acid. The resultant polymer has a weight average molecular (Mw) of 5000 to 150000 dalton. The polymer has favorite property as an additive for mineral building materials. COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT
Abstract:
The present invention relates to the use of water soluble or water dispersible polymers containing carboxyl groups, optionally in latent form, and side-chains of general formula (I): -X-Y-[-O-(-Alk-O)n-R]k as additives in mineral building materials, wherein X, Y, Alk, R, n and k have the meanings cited in Claim 1. Said polymers can be obtained by polymerizing ethylenically unsaturated monomers in the presence of compounds containing phosphorus and, optionally, by additional polymer-analogous transformation. The invention further relates to the production of said polymers and the use thereof. Also described are polymers, which can be obtained by polymerizing aromatic vinyl compounds, olefins, cycloolefins and/or dienes, as D monomers and anhydrides of ethylenically unsaturated dicarboxylic acids as E monomers, and which can be used both as parent compounds for the above-mentioned polymers and as additives for mineral building materials.00000
Abstract:
The invention relates to the use of alcohol alkoxylates as activity-improving adjuvants in the agrotechnical field, and to compositions containing these adjuvants. The invention also relates to corresponding agrotechnical agents. The addition of such alcoholalkoxylates enables the absorption of active ingredients by plants to be accelerated.

Date Mar. 16, 1995Stable aqueous polyolefin wax dispersions contain A) from 5 to 65% by weight of polyethylene wax or polypropylene wax having a mean particle size of from 1 to 50 mu m and an acid number of less than 5 mg of KOH/g of wax and B) from 0.5 to 20% by weight of glyceride of predominantly ethylenically monounsaturated or polyunsaturated C16-C22-monocarboxylic acids which may additionally contain hydroxyl groups, which glyceride has been reacted with from 1 to 50 mol of a 1,2-alkylene oxide of 2 to 4 carbon atoms, as a dispersant. These dispersions are suitable for the production of floor and stone polishes, shoe polishes, car polishes, printing inks, print pastes, finishes, packagings, lubricating greases, vaseline, drawing compounds, sealing and insulating materials for electrical parts, aqueous wood glazes, hot-melt coatings, cosmetic formulations and toothpastes, in plastics processing, in papermaking and in corrosion protection, for the treatment of fabrics and yarns and for leather treatment and as parting compounds in gravity die casting, pressure die casting and centrifugal casting of nonferrous metals.
Abstract:
The invention concerns the use, as dispersants for aqueous pigment suspensions, of partially esterified copolymers obtained by the copolymerization of (a) at least one C4 to C28 olefin and (b) ethylenically unsaturated dicarboxylic acid anhydrides with 4 to 8 C-Atoms in the molar ratio of 1:0.5 to 1:2 and the subsequent partial esterification of the copolymer with reaction products of (A) C1 to C30 alcohols, C8 to C22 fatty acids, C1 to C12 alkylphenols or secondary C2 to C30 amines and (B) at least one C2 to C4 alkylene oxide or tetrahydrofuran in the molar ratio (A):(B) of 1:2 to 1:200, and hydrolysis of the anhydride groups in the copolymer to give carboxyl groups, the partial esterification of the copolymer being carried out to an extent such that 1 to 50 % of the carboxyl groups in the copolymer are esterified. The invention also concerns pigment suspensions containing such partially esterified copolymers.
