    Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable the production of a water-base copolymer dispersion in a medium essentially comprising water by subjecting a mixture comprising a water-soluble N-vinylated nonionic monomer having a specified water solubility and a major amt. of a hydrophobic monomer having a specified water solubility to free-radical, water-base emulsion polymn. SOLUTION: A monomer mixture comprising 10-70 wt.% N-vinylated nonionic monomer having a water solubility higher than 60 g/l at 25 deg.C and 30-90 wt.% monoethylenically unsatd. hydrophobic monomer having a water solubility lower than 60 g/l at 25 deg.C is polymerized. An N-vinyllactam is an esp. advantageous N-vinylated monomer. A water-soluble azo compd., an alkali or ammonium salt of peroxodisulfuric acid, and hydrogen peroxide are examples of an esp. advantageous polymn. initiator. Pref., at least 70% of the initiator is continuously fed in the form of a water soln. or a water-alcohol soln.

    Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prepare an auxiliary agent for direct tableting, capable of rapidly disintegrating at a low dusting ratio and having a high uptake capacity for a hardly tableted ingredient in spite of a good fluidity and a good binding power possessed thereby in order to form a tablet having a moderate hardness. SOLUTION: This auxiliary agent for direct tableting (i.e., the one without containing an active substance) comprises the following mixture: (A) 75-98wt.%, preferably 89-93wt.% powdery cellulose suitable for tableting with (B) 1-15wt.%, preferably 2-6wt.% soluble polyvinylpyrrolidone and (C) 0.5-10wt.%, preferably 2-5wt.% insoluble polyvinylpyrrolidone.
