Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a polyisocyanate which has good characteristics and can easily by produced. SOLUTION: This method for producing the polyisocyanate, comprising (i) a step for reacting (a) a diisocyanate I (cf. the specification) with (b) a compound having two groups capable of reacting with the isocyanate (wherein, at least one of the components (a) and (b) has a function group exhibiting a reacting property different from the functional groups of the other component) to produce (A) the addition product with having one isocyanate group and a group capable of reacting with one isocyanate, (ii), if necessary, a step for producing (P) a polyaddition reaction product having one isocyanate group and a group capable of reacting with one isocyanate, and (iii) a step for reacting (A) the addition product and/or (P) the polyaddition reacting product with a diisocyanate or polyisocyanate II different from the diisocyanate I.
