Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a highly dispersed active component and to ensure high sintering stability and aggregation stability by applying a catalytically active metal to a support modified in the form of a chloride-free dissolved amine complex, acetylacetonate complex or allyl complex. SOLUTION: An inner support material such as granular SiO2 is pretreated by heating before coating with a modifier preferably used in the form of an alkoxide. The inner support material is then impregnated into a liquid phase, e.g. in an aqueous or organic phase or into a gaseous phase, e.g. by chemical vapor deposition. The resulting support material modified in the form of a chloride-free amine complex, acetylacetonate complex or allyl complex is optionally hydrolyzed, dried and calcined. A catalytically active metal such as Pd or Pt is applied to the modified support material by impregnation or ion exchange and then drying and optional calcination are carried out.

Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the residual content of an unsaturated compound after hydrogenation by using a catalyst containing a metal having the hydrogenation activities on an alumina carrier and representing the reflection of a specified X-ray refraction pattern as the catalyst used in the case of hydrogenating selec tively the unsaturated compound in hydrocarbon flows. SOLUTION: When an unsaturated compound in hydrocarbon flows containing the unsaturated compound is selectively hydrogenated by using a catalyst, the catalyst having at least a metal of one kind provided with hydrogenation activities on an alumina carrier and representing the reflection of the X-ray refraction pattern corresponding to the lattice face interval in the state of not being used represented by a separate table is used. As the metal of one kind provided with hydrogenation activities or a plurality of metals provided with hydrogenation activities, one kind or a plurality of kinds of metals selected from group VIII, group IX or group X of the periodical table are used as the metal provided with the hydrogenation activities. As the metal provided with hydrogenation activities, preferably a platinum and/or a palladium is used.

SOLUTION: This olefin production process comprises (A) a step to perform extractive distillation of butadiene from a 4C stream optionally using a butadiene-selective solvent, (B) a step to selectively hydrogenate butadiene and acetylene impurities in the 4C stream supplied from a steam cracker or a refiner or a stream of the step A and simultaneously isomerize at least a part of 1-butene to 2-butene, (C) a step to remove i-butene from the 4C stream and obtain an ether, (D) a step to remove oxygen-containing impurities from the 4C stream using an adsorbing material and (E) a step to perform the metathesis of butene in the 4C stream in two stages.

Abstract: Catalyst contains a catalytically active metal in the form of its chloride-free dissolved amine complexes, aetylacetonate or allyl complexes on a modified carrier. An Independent claim is also included for a process for the production of the catalyst comprising: (a) thermally treating the carrier material; (b) impregnating the carrier material with a modifier in the gas or liquid phase; (c) optionally hydrolyzing the modified carrier material at 20-200 degrees C in O2 or in air or in a H2O-containing gas stream; (d) optionally drying at 100-500 degrees C; (e) optionally calcining at 200-1000 degrees C; (f) applying the catalytically active metal by impregnating or ion exchange; (g) drying at 20-500 degrees C; and (h) optionally calcining at up to 1000 degrees C.
