Abstract: A bone marrow collection kit (10) is provided comprising a collection container for receiving a bone marrow containing fluid (12) having a body (14) that defines an interior (16) and an inlet opening (18) and an outlet opening (28) and including a prefilter (30) that extends from the outlet opening (28) into the interior of the collection container (16) so that fluid must flow through the prefilter (30) to exit the collection container (12) through the outlet opening (28). A first inline filter member (50) is coupled to the outlet opening (28) of the collection container (12), the first inline filter member (50) having a flexible plastic body (60) that defines an interior (66), and an inlet opening (68) and an outlet opening (70) and the interior including a filter (72) so constructed and arranged that fluid that enters the inlet opening (68) must flow through the filter (72) to exit the first inline filter member (50) through the outlet opening (70). A container for receiving a resultant filtered bone marror containing fluid (94) having an interior in fluid communication with the outlet opening (70) of the first inline filter member (50) is also provided.

The flow conduit also defines a portion downstream from the branch conduit, which communicates with at least one cell culture container, each container being a flexible bag. At least part of the flexible bag is made of a material capable of providing at least 2 times the oxygen diffusion and at least 2 times the carbon dioxide diffusion between the bag interior and exterior, compared with an identically-sized, sealed bag having polyethylene walls 0.013 inch thick.
