    Abstract: A microfluidic probe head for processing a sequence of separate liquid volumes separated by spacers, the microfluidic probe head comprising: an inlet and an outlet, a first fluid channel and a second fluid channel, and a fluid bypass connecting the first fluid channel and the second fluid channel to each other, wherein, the first fluid channel is configured for delivering the sequence of separate liquid volumes from the inlet toward a deposition area, the fluid bypass connects the first fluid channel and the second fluid channel, to allow the spacers to be removed from the first fluid channel and thereby obtain a free sequence of separate liquid volumes, without spacers, the first fluid channel is configured for delivering the free sequence of separate liquid volumes to the deposition area, and the second fluid channel is configured for delivering the removed spacers from the fluid bypass to the outlet.

    Abstract: The present invention is notably directed to a microfluidic chip. The chip comprises a main microfluidic channel, on one side of the chip, and a bead integration system. The bead integration system is arranged on said one side of the chip. It comprises an auxiliary microfluidic channel transverse to and in fluidic communication with the main microfluidic channel, so as to form an intersection therewith. The intersection is delimited by structural elements arranged in the main microfluidic channel. The structural elements are configured to retain, at said intersection, beads flowed in a bead suspension liquid advancing in said auxiliary microfluidic channel and passing the intersection. In addition, such structural elements are configured to let liquid advancing in the main microfluidic channel pass the intersection through the structural elements. The invention is further directed to related devices and methods.

    Abstract: The invention is notably directed to a microfluidic device. The device comprises a substrate with a microchannel formed as a groove on a main surface of the substrate. The device further comprises one or more conduits extending parallel to the main surface of the substrate, and from a lateral surface of the substrate up to a lateral wall of the microchannel. The one or more conduits are configured so as to allow insertion of one or more electrodes therein, respectively, and such that an end of each of the one or more electrodes can reach into the microchannel. The invention is further directed to related sets of components, which include the above microfluidic device, as well as a housing, with electronics, and, possibly, a porous support (e.g., a membrane) and a cap.     Abstract: Methods are provided for producing an authenticated packaged product. The method includes providing on the product a security code encoding security data for the product, packing the product in packaging, and providing a tag carrying encrypted product data on the packaging. The product data comprises the security data for the product. The method further comprises storing a decryption key for the encrypted product data at a network server, and providing on the packaging access data for accessing the decryption key at the network server. Corresponding methods and systems are provided for verifying authenticity of such an authenticated packaged product.
