Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a joning method enabling the joining of a flex cable and a circuit board which cannot be embodied with ordinary connectors on account of their dimensional restrictions in a hard disk device of an extremely small size/thin type and the hard disk device utilizing the same. SOLUTION: This joining method is the method for joining the flex cable 3 for transmitting the input and output signals to a head formed in a device body 1 of a hard disk and the circuit board 11. A groove part 2 is formed in the device body 1 and the connector 12 consisting of a projecting part of a shape insertable into the formed groove part 2 is formed at the circuit board 11. The joining part of the flex cable 3 and the connector 12 of the circuit board 11 are inserted into the groove part 2. The terminal 13 of the connector 12 and the terminal 4 of the joining part of the flex cable 3 are joined. The hard disk device has the joining part utilizing the joining method described above.

Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To miniaturize a device by forming reference point members for positioning a first head gimbals assembly on a first surface and positioning a second head gimbals assembly on a second surface respectively on the first surface and second surface. SOLUTION: The upper head gimbals assembly(HGA) 49A includes an arm member 51A, a suspension load beam 53A and an integral type wiring plate 54A. A center line CL1 is extended along the longitudinal direction of a head stack assembly and an opening 55 aligned with its center is formed at a carriage 48. The first reference pins 57A and 58A and the opening 55 are formed on the carriage 48 in such a manner that the opening 55 through which a pivot cartridge 42 passes is arranged between the first reference pin 57A and the second reference pin 58A. The line 60 passing the first and second first reference pins 57A and 58A is inclined by an angle α1 from the center line CL1 of the head stack assembly.

Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a plate-like apparatus, an apparatus with a built-in rotating body and a disk device which enable absorbing of shock from the outside, and moreover, easily performing loading. SOLUTION: Shocks from the outside are absorbed, and the deviation of axis, etc., of a magnetic disk 1b is prevented by setting bumpers 40A, 40B, 40C and 40D at the four corners of the disk device 10. At this time, at the two corner parts of the end part side of a guide groove formed on a base 12, pedestal surfaces 31A, 31B are formed on one side of the guide grooves, so that the plate-like bumpers 40A, 40B are set. In addition, on the remaining two corner parts, the plug-in bumpers 40C, 40D are set, and a label which covers one part of the plug-in bumpers may be stuck from above.
