Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To increase dust collecting efficiency in a disk driving device represented by an HDD. SOLUTION: This hard disk drive is provided with a roughly cylindrical disk housing chamber 12b for housing a disk assembly, a collection chamber 13e including a base 12 having a peripheral wall 12a erected around, and a partition wall 13a for partitioning the disk housing chamber 12b at the base 12, and a top cover 14 functioning as the cap of the base 12. A gasket 15a is provided as a first gasket part between the top cover 14 and the peripheral wall 12a of the base 12, and a gasket 15b is provided as a second gasket part between the top cover 14 and the partition wall 13a of the collection chamber 13e.

Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent the coincidence of the frequency band generated by the peak of the acoustic frequency occurring in the rotation of a spindle motor and the resonance frequency of a damper. SOLUTION: The damper 42 which is mounted at the disk driver and plays a vibration damping function has a flat planar substrate 42a having a joint surface 42d to the disk driver and thick parts 42a and 42c thicker than the flat planar 42a. The selection width of the shape is made wider than that of the conventional flat damper and eventually the regulation of the resonance frequency of the damper at a higher degree of freedom is made possible.

Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent a head slider assembly fixed to a flexure at a head suspension assembly from pitching and moving unfavorably when a shock is applied to a hard disk drive apparatus. SOLUTION: An apparatus is provided with a head suspension assembly in which tabs 28A are formed in the front part, with a means which is coupled to the rear part of the head suspension assembly in such a way that the front part is moved between the innermost-side position and the outermost-side position in the radial direction of a disk 21, with a lump element 24 which comprises a support face coupled to the tabs 28A when the front part is situated in the outermost-side position and with flexures 29 which are placed on the front part and which are provided with front parts near the front part of the head suspension assembly and with rear parts near the rear part of the head suspension assembly. Then, when the tabs 28A are coupled to the support face of the lump element 24, an extension part 27 which faces surfaces 37 in the front parts of the flexures 29 by keeping a prescribed interval is installed at the lump element 24.

Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a disk driver, etc., with which the noise during driving can be effectively lessened and reliability can be enhanced. SOLUTION: First ribs 28 and second ribs 29 are formed near the pivot of an actuator of the hard disk drive 20 to prevent the tilting of the pivot when the actuator is activated. Vibration absorption members 41 and 42 are interposed between the first ribs 28, the second ribs 29 and a cover 22 on a base 21 side such that these vibration absorption members 41 and 42 abut the cover 22. The vibration absorption members 41 and 42 are positioned in the middle between fixing points f1 and f6 of the cover 22 to the base 21 and a fixing point f8 to the pivot.

The upper magnet fixing part 102 fixes permanent magnets 112 and 114, and a lower magnet fixing part 104 fixes permanent magnets 116 and 118. In the tip parts of the upper and lower magnetic fixing parts 102 and 104, soft magnetic bodies, for example plate bodies 120 and 121 composed of JIS SS400, are respectively provided. These plate bodies 120 and 121 function as yokes.

Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent a suspension arm from being brought in contact with an inner surface of a housing due to vibration by providing a vibration limit part colliding the suspension arm at a prescribed amplitude position to limit a vibration amplitude on the upper part of retreat surface of a ramp when the suspension arm existing on the retreat position of the ramp is vertically vibrated due to the vibration from the outside. SOLUTION: A support part 31 of a ramp is provided with projection parts 38a-38b. The matter that an interval between a suspension arm 14 and the projection part 38 is made small within the range not colliding when the suspension arm slides on a guide surface at a load/unload time is preferred from a point of view of an amplitude limit. Thus, the projection part 38a prevents collision between the suspension arm 14a and the upper surface or the cap of a housing, the projection part 38b prevents the collision between the suspension arms 14b and 14c and the projection part 38c prevents the collision between the suspension arm 14d and the lower surface or the base of the housing.

Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To properly guide a rotary actuator to a limit rotational angle and locks the same in a disk storage device. SOLUTION: A rotary actuator 20 is attached rotatably around a spindle shaft 16 as a pivotal shaft in a housing 12. An iron piece 60 is made rotatable integrally with the rotary actuator and attracted by a locking magnet 70 magnetically, and a pulling-in magnet 80 is added and set to assist suction torque for an unloading operation during the retreating of the rotary actuator 20 to a lamp 30. Thus, even in a thin hard disk device, even if a small current obtained by recovering the rotational force of a disk when power is off is provided to a coil 42, an unloading operation is successfully performed.

Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To secure the clearance between the base bottom surface and the top cover of a flexible cable assembly and an enclosure case. SOLUTION: An FPC cable assembly has an FPC cable 101, reinforcing films 102, 103, and 104, and reinforcing plates 105, 106, and 107. The reinforcing films 102 and 103 are laminated to a first mounting part 111 and a second mounting part 113 of the FPC cable 101, and the reinforcing plates 105 and 106 are laminated via the reinforcing films 102 and 103. By laminating a reinforcing film to the mounting parts 111 and 113 in advance, the deformation of the mounting parts 111 and 113 can be suppressed when laminating the reinforcing plate, thus improving the lamination accuracy of the FPC cable 101 and the reinforcing plates 105 and 106, and hence securing a clearance with the enclosure case.

Abstract: PURPOSE: To obtain a low-cost flexible cable structure by improving assembling properties. CONSTITUTION: In a hard disk drive, power and signal are transmitted and received between a carriage having a magnetic head for reading the magnetic information under the positional control on the disk and a card of the lower surface of a base. The movable part 44 of the cable 42 is supported by the carriage, followed up, and a non-movable part 46 is bent to enclose a reinforcing plate 50, and mounted on the base via the late 50. The plate 50 reinforces to connect a carriage connector 84 to the card 40 on the lower surface 60, and to hold the attitude to hold the lateral attitude of the part 44 on the thick surface 64. In summary, the one plate is sufficient.
