In a scramble system in which a video signal scrambled by a scrambling apparatus (10) is descrambled by a decoding apparatus (20), an identification code that specifies the decoding apparatus (20) is inserted into a vertical blanking period of the video signal supplied to the decoding apparatus (20).

SOLUTION: An encrypted contract key corresponding to a prescribed program is supplied beforehand from a broadcast supply side to a receiving terminal while being contained in individual information and at the receiving terminal, the contract key is decrypted by a first decoder 23 using a receiving terminal specific individual key. When a prescribed operation is performed on the receiving terminal, at a second decoder 22, a scrambling key in program information added to the program is decoded using the decoded contract key and supplied to a descrambler 21, and the program is descrambled at the descrambler 21. PURPOSE:To display the states of various adjusting devices in a visually easy- to-see state by allowing a video signal and an audio signal relating to this video signal to be inputted, and displaying the state of the supply of either of the both, the kind of the input, etc., even when either of the both is inputted. CONSTITUTION:The playback signal of a cassette tape recorder is supplied to an input terminal 19, the audio signal from an FM tuner is supplied to an input terminal 20, and the audio signal from a CD player 22 is supplied to an input terminal 21. A microprocessor 24 is supplied with the remote control signal from a photodetection part 26 or the switch signal from a panel switch 26 provided on the front panel of a television image receiver. The microprocessor 24 generates control signals for controlling a video input, selector 1 and an audio input selector 2, a control signal for a sound volume control and tone control circuit 8, and a control signal and a display signal for a character generator 7.

PURPOSE: To inhibit program viewing for each reception terminal equipment by setting a group to a reception terminal equipment. CONSTITUTION: Individual information sent from a broadcast source is decoded based on an individual key specific to a reception terminal equipment at a 1st decoder 23 of the reception terminal equipment and a group number and a work key are extracted. A broadcast program sent from the broadcast source is fed to a descrambler 21, program information attended with the broadcast program is decoded based on the work key at a 2nd decoder 22 and a scramble key and group designation information are extracted. When the group number designated by the group designation information and a group number included in the individual information fed from the broadcast source are coincident, the scramble key is not fed to the descrambler 21 and the broadcast program is not descrambled.

PURPOSE:To execute vivid audio reproducing at the time of reproducing music and to execute a clear reproducing at the time of reproducing an announcement, etc., by making voice frequency characteristic a wide band when inputting external sounds or receiving a stereophonic broadcast. CONSTITUTION:Video output signals from a video disk, a VTR and a 8 mm VTR are supplied to input terminals 3, 4 and 5 and audio output signals from them are supplied to the input terminals 6, 7 and 8. And also the audio output signals from an audio tuner, a cassette tape recorder and a CD player are respectively supplied to the input terminals 9, 10 and 11. The respective audio output signals are switched to be selected with a switching signal from a microcomputer 14 in a switching circuit 2, and supplied to an audio output circuit 27 through a tone quality control circuit 26. When the input sound signals are external inputs or when the stereophonic broadcast is received, a D/A converter 30 transmits a control signal to the tone quality control circuit 26 in order to obtain the with band frequency characteristic.

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To attain quick and accurate adjustment in the adjustment mode by displaying indication of all names of controllable controlled systems and of current status of each controlled system onto a screen of a picture tube altogether. SOLUTION: When a button of a remote device 10 is depressed, its controlled system is automatically selected and indication represented in a menu 4b is displayed on a screen 4a. Names of all controlled systems which are controllable are displayed on a left side area 21 of the menu 4b and the current status of the controllable controlled systems is displayed by means of bars to a right side area 22 of the menu and the name of the controlled system selected at present is blinked. Then every time the operator depresses a button, the new controlled system is selected and the name of the controlled system selected at present is blinked. For example, while the 'lightness' is selected as a controlled system, when a down-button or an up-button is depressed, a microcomputer generates a control signal in response to the operating state and controls a video processing circuit.
