Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To attain correct and quick access. SOLUTION: A reproducing command is transmitted in addition to a prescribed address from a video CD control part 8 to a CD mechanical control part 3 via a system control part 11 and then the reproducing of a video CD 1 is started by a CD driving part 2. The reproducing data of the disk are supplied to an MPEG circuit part 4 via the CD mechanical control part 3, and in the MPEG circuit part 4, the address included in the reproducing data is supplied to the video CD control part 8, in which the difference value between the address from the MPEG circuit part 4 and the prescribed address transmitted in addition to the reproducing command is calculated as a correction value. Thereafter, at the time of transmitting the address in addition to the reproducing command, the video CD control part 8 transmits the address after correcting it by the correction value.

Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To effectively avoid power concentration caused by the simultaneous initiation of television receivers in a disaster suffered area regarding an emergency warning broadcasting system enabled television receiver configured to be initiated in a displayable state, in which broadcasting contents of an emergency warning broadcast can be displayed, according to the establishment of predetermined conditions including at least the reception of an emergency warning signal.
SOLUTION: According to the establishment of the predetermined conditions, a television receiver is initiated based on the information of a waiting time which is set at least so as not to initiate all the television receivers in the same timing. Thus, television receivers can be initiated at random to a certain extent, so that a power concentration can be avoided.

A lamp 35 knows whether is lighting or not by detecting if a current flows through the lamp 35 and transmits a lamp non-lit detection signal EL, when the lamp is not lit. An abnormality display part 16 informs a user of abnormality information which is causing a lamp non-lighting or processing information on those through the control of the control section 50 when the lamp does not light.

At the time, a video signal processing circuit 72 is not turned to the pause state and the pictures displayed on the monitor 61 are successively changed along with the lapse of the time when the pictures of video signals supplied from an external input terminal 71 are changed. When the cancellation of the caption pause is commanded, the CPU 83 controls the screen display circuit 84, and when new character data are inputted, they are supplied to the memory 85 and stored instead of the character data stored until then.

Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent operating sound of a cooling fan from being conspicuous as a noise especially when no sound is reproduced by using a control means for controlling the output of the cooling fan to cool the inside of a sound reproducing device to multilevel-control the output of the cooling fan. SOLUTION: A lamp 15 to illuminate an LCD 13 is provided in an outer casing of a sound reproducing device and lighted by an output of a lamp power supply from a lamp cover supply 14. A cooling fan 21 is provided to prevent a temperature rise in the outer package due to heat generated by the lamp 15. This cooling fan 21 is driven at a speed in response to a voltage of a fan power supply output outputted from a fan power supply 20 to cool the inside of the device. The fan power supply 20 is controlled according to a fan control signal outputted from a control section 22. The fan power supply 20 outputs a fan power output of 0 V when the fan control signal is '00', 4.5 V when '01' and 9 V when '10'.

When the decoder 31 is turned to the pause state, a character signal stored in an internal memory is repeatedly read and displayed on a monitor 51. Besides, since signal reproduced out of a video tape 3 of the VTR 1 becomes the video signal of the same frame, the image to be displayed on the monitor 51 is turned to the pause state.

Further, when detecting the external recording medium 50 inserted to a slot of an interface section 42, the self-diagnosis processing section 38 checks contents of the built-in memory 40, again executes the self-diagnosis processing when the result of the self-diagnosis processing recorded in the built-in memory 40 indicates abnormity, and writes the processing result to the connected external recording medium 50.

SOLUTION: In this station-selecting method, steps 3, 4 specify the existing region of a channel number given by making figures inputted by a viewer as a part of the channel number high-order figures of the channel number, a step 5 detects a channel number which has been viewed most recently in the existing region, by retrieving channel numbers which are viewed in the past, in a time range to which the present time belongs, and a step displays a detected channel number on a screen.
