Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an improved process for ammoxidation from a paraffin into an unsaturated mononitrile and corresponding monoolefin. SOLUTION: This process is to synthesize acrylonitrile or methacrylonitrile by a catalytic reaction of a paraffin selected from between propane and isobutane in the vapor phase according to a catalytic contact of a catalyst with a reactional component in a reactional zone of oxygen molecules with ammonia. The feed composition has a molar ratio of the paraffin to the ammonia within the range of about 2.5-16 and a molar ratio of the paraffin to the oxygen within the range of about 1.0-10. The catalyst contains elements in a ratio represented by the empirical formula VSbm Aa Mob Dd Ox [A is one or more kinds of Ti, Sn, Fe, Cr and Ga; D is one or more kinds of Li, Mg, Ca, Sr, Ba, Co, Ni, Zn, Ge, Nb, Zr, W, Cu, The, Ta, Se, Bi, Ce, In, As, B and Mn; (m) is 0.8-4; (a) is 0.01-2; 0

Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prepare an oxidation (especially ammoxidation) catalyst by producing an aq. slurry of a batch of feed mixture contg. the compds. of vanadium and antimony and the tin shown by formula II to be dispersed in tetraalkylammonium hydroxide of formula I, drying and then calcining the slurry. SOLUTION: The catalyst contg. vanadium, antimony and tin as their oxides is prepared from the optional appropriate org. or inorg. precursor compds. of V and Sb and a compd. (e.g. the salt, oxide, hydroxide or organometallic compd. of such elements) used for introducing other optional elements into the calcined final catalyst. The tin is introduced into the batch of feed mixture to prepare the catalyst as a dispersion of SnO2 .xH2 O (where x>=0) in (Cn H2n+1 )4 NOH (where 5>=n>=1), and the batch of feed mixture is heated and calcined until a final catalyst is obtained to prepare an excellent oxidation (especially ammoxidation) catalyst.

Abstract: A catalyst (I) containing vanadium, antimony and tin in the oxide state is prepared by making an aqueous slurry of a mixture (II) of compounds of the desired elements followed by drying and calcining the mixture to form active catalyst (I). (II) is a solution comprising SnO2.xH2O (where x >= 0) dispersed in a tetraalkyl ammonium hydroxide of formula (CnH2n+14NOH (1). Also claimed is a process for making an alpha , beta -unsaturated mononitrile, preferably acrylonitrile or methacrylonitrile by the catalytic reaction in the vapour phase of propane or isobutane with oxygen and ammonia in the presence of a catalyst (I) of formula VSbmAaDdOx (2). Abstract: The invention relates to a method for the preparation of acatalyst containing the elements and proportions designed by thefollowing formulaVSbmAaDdOxwhere: A is one or more Ti, Sn, Sn being always present, D is oneor more Li, Mg, Ca, Sr, Ba, Co, Fe, Cr, Ga, Ni, Zn, Ge, Nb, Zr,Mo, W, Cu, Te, Ta, Se, Bi, Ce, In, As, B. Al and Mn and where mhas the value from 0.5 to 10, a is bigger from 0 to 10, d has thevalue of 0 to 10, and x is determined by the degree of oxidationof the present cations. The method includes the preparation ofaqueous suspensiion of a mixture of burden of initial materialscontaining compounds of the above elements which should beincluded in the final catalyst. There follows drying and heatcalcination of the mixture to an active catalyst where the initialraw material for the tin is a solution containing Sn02.xH20, wherex has the value of bigger or equal to 0, and dispersed intetraalkylammonium hydroxide with a formula(CnH2n+1)4NOHwhere 5 n 1. The suspension produced is dried and the mixture iscalcinated at maximum calcination temperature of 500°C.18 claims

Abstract: Ammoxidation of propane or isobutane with NH3 and 02 using (1) a mole ratio of paraffin:NH3 in the range from 2 to 16 and a mole ratio of paraffin:O2 in the range 1 to 10 and (2) a mixture of particulate catalyst compositions, the first being especially effective to promote formation of an unsaturated nitrile and an olefin from the paraffin, and the second catalyst composition being especially effective to promote the conversion of the olefin to the unsaturated nitrile. Catalytic compositions useful in the process are disclosed.
