Abstract: PURPOSE:To prevent the adhesion of granules to the inner wall of a drier by forming a polyester granule path between a rotor and a screen in a fusion preventing device. CONSTITUTION:When polyester granules are loaded from a supply port 1 of a fusion preventing device by a fixing amount, the granules are fed in between a rotor 4 and a screw 7 by a transporting screw 3 that has been previously rotated. The granules are rubbed with each other between the rotor 4 with projection rotating at high speed and the octagonal screen 7. After the surfaces of the granules are crystallized by the rubbing action, the granules are discharged from a discharge port 8. Air from an air supply port 10 is blown from slits through the inside of the screw 3 and the inside of the rotor 4, whereby powder produced by the rubbing action is discharged from a discharge port 11 through slits of the screen 7. Therefore, the fusion of the granules to the inner wall of a drier and to each other can be prevented by their crystallization.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To prepare high purity title flakes having excellent handleability and long term storability, and valuable as an industrial raw material, by keeping the cooling part of a flaking apparatus to a specific temperature, and maintaining the flakes in the apparatus in an inert gas atmosphere. CONSTITUTION:In the preparation of flakes from molten bis-2-hydroxyethyl terephthalate and/or its oligomer wherein the molar ratio of ethylene glycol unit to terephthalic acid unit is between 0.8 and 1.8, the cooling part of the flaking apparatus is cooled with a coolant of a temperature of 40-200 deg.C to solidgy the oligomer, and the atmosphere the flaking apparatus and a flakes reservoir are replaced with an inert gas such as nitrogen.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To accomplish easy automatic checking of the remaining amount or the existence of substance in the auxiliary vessel for adding thereof to the vessels as required once stored in addition of the substance to the vessels such as reaction device and tank. CONSTITUTION:This apparatus is provided with an auxiliary vessel 2 having an opening/closing lid 7 for feeding substance to a vessel on the side thereof and being connected to the vessel 1. The auxiliary vessel is adapted to store substance to be added to the vessel. In addition, it is equipped with a vertically movable substance detecting stick 11 which is charged downward by a spring inserted into the vessel and a stick position checking device which senses the vertical movement position of the stick inside. With such an arrangement, when matters (e.g. capsules 6) are added to the vessel 1, the matter detecting stick moves downward. Accordingly, the absence of matters in the vessel can be discriminated easily.

Abstract: PURPOSE:The recycled slurry of ethylene glycol and terephthalic acid is fed stably into a plurality of batchwise polymerizers to produce bis-beta-hydroxyethyl terephthalate and/or its oligomers. CONSTITUTION:A slurry of terephthalic acid and ethylene glycol wherein the molar ratio of EG/TPA is 0.95 or more is stored in slurry tank 2, taken out of it with primary snake pump 3 and recycled in pipe 4. The slurry is fed from the arbitrary points of the recycling pipe through branching balve 5 and metering pump 7 into a plurality of esterifiers 9. At this time counter 8 counts the revolution number of the feed pump for the slurry and the amount fed is controlled. Thus, the batchside esterification is conducted to produce the objective polyester. EFFECT:The cyclization of the slurry can keep the uniformity and the constant molar ratio and prevent the clogging of pipes.
