Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image display device that is laminated structure but yet is small in non-display area and high in mechanical strength and has a reliable large screen. SOLUTION: The transistor array is formed by joining a first translucent substrate 200a with a plurality of transistors 203 and transparent conductive films 205 formed thereon, with a second translucent substrate 200b with a plurality of transistors 203 and transparent conductive films 205 formed thereon, on their sides. The transparent conductive films are placed between the joint 207 between the first and second translucent substrates 200a, 200b, and the transistors nearest to the joint 207.

Abstract: PURPOSE: To reduce the resistance of the gate electrode of a MOS semiconductor device, thereby reducing the noise. CONSTITUTION: A gate electrode 13 formed on a semiconductor substrate 10 through a gate oxide film 11 uses a MoW alloy film which has a lower resistivity than that of the conventional Mo or W layer, thereby enabling the reduction of the noise. By setting the W content in the MoW alloy film to 20-80atom%, pref. 30-70-atom% the resistivity of the gate electrode 13 can be more reduced to more enhance the noise reduction.

Abstract: PURPOSE: To provide a low resistivity and to facilitate handling by making Mo and/or W the major component and by adding an element selected from Ar, Kr and Xe. CONSTITUTION: A gate electrode 1 formed on a glass board 101 is made to have Mo and/or W as major component, and the ratio of the lattice constant of the material of the gate electrode 1 to the lattice constant of the material in bulk condition is be within ±3%. An element selected from Ar, Kr and Xe is added to the metal of the major component. In such case, Ar is set at 0.0003 atom %-5 atom %, Kr is set at 0.0003 atom %-3 atom % and Xe is set at 0.0003 atom % to 3 atom %. The content of the major component, Mo and/or W, is preferably 10 atom %-95 atom %. Thus, a low resistivity is obtained and handling is facilitated.

CONSTITUTION:This device has the substrate 11, the 1st conductor layer 12 which is formed on this substrate and is made into electrodes and wirings, an insulating film 13 which covers this 1st conductor layer and substrate 11 and the 2nd conductor layer 14 which is formed on this insulating layer and consists of the indium tin oxide to be made into the electrodes or wirings. The 1st conductor layer 12 is formed of an alloy composed of aluminum and copper, gold, boron, bisumuth, cobalt, chromium, germanium, iron, molybdenum, niobium, nickel, palladium, platinum, tantalum, titanium, tungsten and/or silver.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To simplify a process, prevent a defect in picture quality, and to improve the precision of a cell gap by forming a bump on a liquid crystal driving substrate except on a display electrode and using the bump as a spacer. CONSTITUTION:An active matrix substrate for liquid crystal driving is constituted by arranging an address electric conductor 102 and a data electric conductor 103 on an undercoated insulating substrate 101 and providing a picture element electrode nearby intersection of the electric conductors. On an opposite substrate, an auxiliary address electric conductor 12 is provided and the bump 11 is provided on the address electric conductor 102 to connect it. An opposite transparent electrode is formed except in the area wherein the active matrix substrate for liquid crystal driving and opposite substrate are connected by the bump 11. Namely, the bump 11 provided on the address electric conductor 102 serves as the spacer for forming a space wherein liquid crystal is charged and is used for electric conduction between the opposite substrate and active matrix substrate for liquid crystal driving so as to control the potential of the opposite display electrode 114.
