Abstract: Un montaje de eje y un método para formar un montaje de eje, que tiene un eje hueco, alargado con una porcion escalonada sobre la superficie del eje. La porcion escalonada de la superficie del eje se forma de dos secciones de borde recto unidas por una seccion inclinada, en lugar de un grado de 2-5 de inclinacion, el cual es necesario en el moldeo convencional de miembros alargados, huecos. Un engranaje que tiene una configuracion de borde recto/inclinado correspondiente, acopla al eje y hace contacto con el eje solamente sobre las porciones de borde rectas correspondientes. Tanto el eje como el engranaje se hacen de plástico.

Abstract: A shaft assembly and method of forming a shaft assembly having an elongated hollow shaft with a stepped portion on the surface of the shaft. Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method wherewith a module for an electro-photographic printer or an electro-copying machine can be removed and replaced easily. SOLUTION: An electro-photographic printer or an electro-copying machine is equipped with a functional module which is easily removed and replaced. The functional module is equipped with a memory type monitor which is capable of reading electronically, and the memory thereof posseses information regarding how to actuate the aforementioned module. In a process of reproduction, a combination of certain codes in the memory is noticed, and a decision is made to determine whether parts in the aforementioned module must be replaced individually or not.

Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a system for managing a fixing module for a printer by an information interchange between a module and the printer in the circumstances of the printer/copier. SOLUTION: A distribution board 30 mutually acts with a memory called 'CRUM' specially adjusted to be coupled to one or a plurality of client's interchangeable modules in the printer. A fixing module 12 is designed to be client's interchangeable, simply removed from the printer, and can be replaced with an instant module. The client can purchase or lease and replaced as needed. The CRUM 13 coupled to the module 12 holds information regarding operating requirement/using state in the printer of the module. A control system of the printer reads a code stored in a memory of the CRUM 13 to acquire a parameter for operating the module at the time of installing, and operates the printer in response to the information.

Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a general purpose system for exchanging information between a module and a device around the periphery of a printer/duplicator. SOLUTION: A panel board 30 executes a mutual operation with a memory device called CRUM(customer replaceable unit monitor) which is specified for coupling with one or plural customer replaceable modules in a device. An electrophotography module 10 and a fixing module 12 are designed to be customer replaceable so that each of them can be taken off from the device as it is, then it can be replaced to another one of the same kind. A customer can buy or lease the individual module, if necessary in order to replace it therewith. The electrophotography module 10 is coupled with a CRUM 11 and the fixing module is with a CRUM 13. Integral purpose of the CRUM 11 and CRUM 13 is for holding information about an operational condition and a using situation of the module in the device. The held data is periodically updated and the data is maintained even when the module is removed from the device.
