Abstract:
A double-faced, non-woven supported silicone pressure sensitive adhesive splicing tape comprising a non-woven backing material having opposing porous surfaces, each said surfaces being coated with a pressure sensitive adhesive, with at least one of said surfaces being coated with a silicone pressure sensitive adhesive layer which is coated and cured on said surface. A method of using the double-faced, non-woven supported silicone pressure sensitive adhesive splicing tape to splice substrates having a low energy surface is also provided.
Abstract:
A laminate construction for splicing textile materials together comprising a first layer of heat activated adhesive having a melting point T1 and a second layer of heat activated material having a melting point T2. A support layer is located between the first layer and the second layer, and the support layer has a melting point T3 which is higher than T1 and T2
Abstract:
The invention provides a method for imparting topographical or protective features to a substrate by contacting a sheet material comprising a thermoplastic layer with a substrate and heating the sheet material to an elevated temperature. The invention also provides a sheet material which comprises at least one layer consisting essentially of one or more thermoplastic, melt-flowable polymers that are semi-crystalline at room temperature.
Abstract:
A release liner providing more roll stability (i.e., the coils forming the roll are less likely to fall apart when the roll is held suspended along its outer circumferential edge) when used with double-sided tape having a heat activated adhesive (“HAA”) side and a pressure sensitive adhesive (“PSA”) side. The release liner includes a front liner side comprising a release layer in contact with, bonded to and readily removable from the PSA side and a back liner side comprising a roll stability layer. The roll stability layer comprises an ethylene vinyl acetate and contacts the HAA side when the adhesive tape assembly is formed into a roll.
Abstract:
An adhesive bonding laminate includes a first thermoplastic adhesive film that is capable of adhesively bonding to an epoxy coating and a second thermoset adhesive film that is capable of adhesively bonding to a passivated surface of a substrate. The first thermoplastic adhesive film is adhesively bonded to the second thermoset adhesive film. Ink jet printheads, ink jet print cartridges and methods of attaching a flexible circuit to substrate employ the adhesive bonding laminate.
Abstract:
A product and a method for its production, wherein the product is adapted to be stuck hot and by pressure to flat articles. The product comprises a flat flexible support having a first heat-fusible layer on its front surface and a second less heat-fusible layer on its back surface. In a preferred embodiment, both layers are discontinuous.
Abstract:
Adjoining strata of pressure-sensitive adhesive are transferred to a package substrate. The two outermost adhesive strata have different adhesion to the substrate. The adhesive strata are used as a reclosable fastener and are intermixed in the course of reclosing and reopening the package, the action being such as to advantageously compensate for contamination occurring at the reseal interface while maintaining the status quo at the permanent interface.
Abstract:
A heat-curable multilayer composite sheet comprising a layer comprising one or more unsaturated compounds which are normally solid or liquid free radical reactive unsaturated compounds and a layer comprising a normally solid or liquid free radical initiator, the layers being bonded to each other as a laminate as separate layers at a temperature at which the free radical initiator does not lose its free radical reaction-initiating capability, and,a process for preparing a heat-curable multilayer composite sheet, which comprises coating a layer-forming material containing a normally solid or liquid free radical reactive unsaturated compound on a strippable sheet to form an unsaturated compound material layer on the strippable sheet, coating a layer-forming material containing a normally solid or liquid free radical initiator on a strippable sheet to form a free initiator layer on the strippable sheet, bringing the unsaturated compound material layer into contact with the free radical initiator layer, and bonding them to each other at a temperature at which the free radical initiator layer does not lose its free radical reaction initiating ability.
Abstract:
An adhesive film and an organic electronic device including the same are provided. The adhesive film includes: a first bonding layer including a first bonding component layer, a moisture absorbent, and first core shell particles; and a second bonding layer disposed below the first bonding layer and including second core shell particles, which are formed of a different material from the first core shell particles, wherein each of the first core shell particles includes a first shell and a first core surrounded by the first shell and each of the second core shell particles includes a second shell and a second core surrounded by the second shell.
Abstract:
A cathode conductive strip can be attached to a semiconductor radiation sensor by using a double sided dual adhesive electrically conductive tape in a sensor assembly or a detector module to provide reliable electrical connection between the semiconductor radiation sensor and the cathode conductive strip. The double sided dual adhesive electrically conductive tape includes an electrically conductive backing with two different adhesion strength adhesives on both sides. The high adhesion strength side is bonded to the cathode electrode of the semiconductor radiation sensor. The lower adhesion strength side is bonded to the conductive face of the cathode conductive strip.
