    Abstract: The present invention provides for the analysis of colorimetric or fluorometric assays by way of capturing an image of the assay on the camera (32) built into the mobile phone (30). A disposable tool (20) is provided to enable the assay to be positioned an appropriate distance from the phone camera (30). A software application on the phone (30) can then analyse the captured image to determinate a qualitative or quantitative outcome of the assay. In many examples, the test will require no modification of the phone hardware and is thus a convenient and cheap technique for analysing an assay. In other embodiments, other disposable items such filter(s) (41, 42) and/or additional light source(s) (LED 22) may be provided.

    Abstract: In an embodiment, an apparatus includes a module assembly and a main assembly. The module assembly includes a module assembly housing, a first faceplate and an analysis unit attached to the first faceplate. The main assembly includes a main assembly housing, a second faceplate and an engine unit rigidly attached to the second faceplate. The engine unit generates a light that passes to the analysis unit via a first lens assembly and a second lens assembly.     Abstract: The need for an instant handheld analysis of cannabis products has been in demand for years from the consumer/dispensary level and grower's quality control. Recent developments in sensitivity and detection devices have transformed the bulky tabletop industry into a personal measurement device. This device consists of a sample cell slot that is an opening used to insert the sealed, extracted, sample cell (see FIG. 1). The extraction cell (see FIG. 2) is a Borosillate material that opens at the top to allow small size sample to be inserted, and mixed into a small amount of solvent. The extracted solvent is then transferred to a polyethylene sample cell (see FIG. 3) and inserted into the device. Once the sample cell is inserted in the device, the user presses the “Measure” button and the THC concentration is shown on the display after a number of seconds.

    Abstract: A system and method for adjusting the light output of an optoacoustic imaging system is presented. An optoacoustic imaging system includes a light source such as a laser, the light source having a light output control, a probe for delivering light to a volume, the probe being associated with one or more sensors, a light path operatively connected to the first light source, the light path providing light from the first light source to the probe. Generally, the light output of an optoacoustic imaging system may be harmful to the eye, and may be subject to maximum safe fluence levels incident upon the volume of interest in a clinical setting. Accordingly, the light output control may be set to an initial, relatively low value. After the light source is pulsed, the light output may be measured at or near the probe at the distal end of the light path. The measured light output can used to determine whether, and how much, to change the setting of the light output control. The system and method may also be used for closed loop control of the light output to keep fluence levels within a desired range. The rate of change of the light output control can be varied based upon the difference between the measured fluence and the desired fluence or range.
