Abstract: Aspects of the disclosure provide a method, an apparatus, and non-transitory computer-readable storage medium for video decoding. The apparatus includes processing circuitry that is configured to decode a supplemental enhancement information (SEI) message that indicates independent region output information. The independent region output information indicates an independent region that is independently decodable in a current picture. The processing circuitry determines the independent region in the current picture based on offset information and dimension information of the independent region in the independent region output information. The processing circuitry decodes the determined independent region irrespective of whether the entire current picture is decoded. The processing circuitry outputs the decoded independent region based on a position indicated by the offset information and a size indicated by the dimension information of the independent region.

Abstract: A method of video encoding performed in a video encoder is provided. In the method, context modeling is performed to determine a context model for each of a number of bins of syntax elements corresponding to residues of a region of a transform skipped block in a coded picture. The transform skipped block is coded with Block Differential Pulse-code Modulation (BDPCM) and divided into a plurality of regions. The number of the bins of syntax elements being context coded does not exceed a maximum number of context coded bins set for the region. The maximum number of context coded bins is determined based on a comparison between a threshold and a number of quantized residues in the region. A bit stream including coded bits of the bins of syntax elements is generated based on the determined context models.

Abstract: Aspects of the disclosure provide a method, an apparatus, and non-transitory computer-readable storage medium for video decoding. The apparatus includes processing circuitry that reconstructs blocks of an image that is to be reconstructed from a coded video bitstream. The processing circuitry decodes first deblocking information in the coded video bitstream including a first deblocking parameter of a deep neural network (DNN) in a video decoder. The first deblocking parameter of the DNN is an updated parameter that has been previously determined by a content adaptive training process. The processing circuitry determines the DNN for a first boundary region comprising a subset of samples in the reconstructed blocks based on the first deblocking parameter included in the first deblocking information. The processing circuitry deblocks the first boundary region comprising the subset of samples in the reconstructed blocks based on the determined DNN corresponding to the first deblocking parameter.

Abstract: A method for video encoding includes determining a filter shape of a cross-component filter applied to a chroma coding block (CB), generating a first intermediate CB by applying a loop filter to the chroma CB, and generating a second intermediate CB by applying, to a corresponding luma CB, the cross-component filter applied to the chroma CB and having the determined filter shape. The method further includes determining a filtered chroma CB based on the first intermediate CB and the second intermediate CB by combining the loop filtered chroma CB with the cross-component filtered luma CB, and generating coded information of the chroma CB in a coded video bitstream. Abstract: An apparatus for video coding is provided. The apparatus includes processing circuitry that buffers first boundary pixel values of first reconstructed samples at a first node along a loop filter chain. The first node is associated with a non linear mapping based filter that is applied in the loop filter chain before a loop restoration filter. The first boundary pixel values are values of pixels at a frame boundary. The processing circuitry applies the loop restoration filter on to-be filtered reconstructed samples based on the buffered first boundary pixel values.

Abstract: In a method of decoding, coded information of a block is received from a coded video bitstream. The coded information indicates that the block is partitioned based on a geometry partition mode (GPM) into a first part and a second part and inter predicted based on merge mode with motion vector difference (MMVD). That a motion vector for the first part of the block partitioned by GPM is not identical to a motion vector for the second part of the block partitioned by GPM is determined. The block is further reconstructed based on the motion vector for the first part of the block and the motion vector for the second part of the block.

Abstract: In a method of decoding, coded information of a coding unit (CU), a template region, and a plurality of reference regions is received. The coded information includes a first syntax element indicating whether the CU is predicted based on a template matching based multiple reference line (MRL) intra prediction mode. Abstract: Aspects of the disclosure provide methods and apparatus for accessing a Constrained Application Protocol (CoAP) server in a media scene description system. A CoAP request can be sent, by a media access function (MAF) of processing circuitry implementing the media scene description system using an application programming interface (API), to the CoAP server to request a media resource. The MAF can be configured as a CoAP client or a Hypertext Transfer Protocol (HTTP)-CoAP proxy. A CoAP response can be received, by the MAF using the API, from the CoAP server. In an example, the CoAP response includes the requested media resource. In an embodiment, the MAF is compatible with both the CoAP request according to a CoAP communication protocol and a proxy request according to an HTTP communication protocol.
