Abstract:
A massage appliance comprising a hollow body (10) delimiting an internal volume connected (7) to a suction source so as to form a suction chamber by bearing with its edge (2) on the skin, said hollow body (10) enclosing at least one internal bearing element able to act by compression on the skin, when the internal volume is at an underpressure; it has an actuator (11) for exerting on the skin, by way of at least one internal bearing element, a force F applied to said element(s) in a continuous manner, at least one of the internal bearing elements thus acting on the skin with a localized continuous compression.
Abstract:
Systems and methods for improving or preventing a condition, such as the treatment of pain syndromes and migraine headaches are disclosed. A method for treating pain can include one or more of the steps including identifying a region of the patient comprising glabrous tissue; positioning the region of the patient comprising glabrous tissue into an enclosed chamber; adjusting the relative humidity of the enclosed chamber sufficient to create a physiologic effect. The method need not involve altering the temperature within the enclosed chamber.
Abstract:
Described here are devices, systems, and methods for treating one or more conditions (such as dry eye) or improving ocular health by providing stimulation to nasal or sinus tissue. Generally, the devices may be handheld or implantable. In some variations, the handheld devices may have a stimulator body and a stimulator probe having one or more nasal insertion prongs. When the devices and systems are used to treat dry eye, nasal or sinus tissue may be stimulated to increase tear production, reduce the symptoms of dry eye, and/or improve ocular surface health.
Abstract:
A medicinal healing booth system for treating a user with medicated steam features a booth. A side panel of the booth features a transparent or translucent top panel section from a panel midpoint to a roof panel. A base panel of the booth features raised grating. The system features a door located in the side panel of the booth. The system features a control system and a steam generation system having a water tank with a heating element, a medicine tank, and a steam distribution nozzle. The medicine tank is fluidly connected to steam piping having the steam distribution nozzle located on a terminating end. The system features a temperature regulation system having an infrared light, a vent, and an automated vent valve. The system features a sterilization system having an ultraviolet light. A seat is located on the booth base panel.
Abstract:
A stimulation and treatment device has a housing with a wide first end part and a narrow second end part. A transducer mounted inside the first end part generates linear motion in response to applied power, and a rounded protrusion extending from the first end part is mechanically connected to the transducer and moved such that the motion can be applied to a patient. A control module mounted inside the first end of the housing is configured to control the delivery of power to the electromechanical transducer. The first end part is substantially spheroidal, and the second end part is substantially cylindrical and extends from the substantially spheroidal first part at the opposite side from the movable rounded protrusion. The shape and distribution of weight results in a user friendly and ergonomically correct device that can be programmed or configured to be useable for a wide range of treatment procedures.

Abstract:
Apparatus for automatic delivery of chest compressions and ventilation to a patient, the apparatus including: a chest compressing device configured to deliver compression phases during which pressure is applied to compress the chest and decompression phases during which approximately zero pressure is applied to the chest a ventilator configured to deliver positive, negative, or approximately zero pressure to the airway; control circuitry and processor, wherein the circuitry and processor are configured to cause the chest compressing device to repeatedly deliver a set containing a plurality of systolic flow cycles, each systolic flow cycle comprising a systolic decompression phase and a systolic compression phase, and at least one diastolic flow cycle interspersed between sets of systolic flow cycles, each diastolic flow cycle comprising a diastolic decompression phase and a diastolic compression phase, wherein the diastolic decompression phase is substantially longer than the systolic decompression phase.
Abstract:
Described is an exercise tool. More particularly, it is a therapy and exercise tool specifically devised as a foot-therapy and toe-aligning device to align, separate, and stretch toes. The foot-therapy and toe-aligning device comprises a frame with a plurality of posts connected with the frame. The device is formed of an elastic material such that a user may place at least one of the plurality of posts between a user's toes and pull the post to stretch and elongate the post between the toes. Upon release, the elastic material of the post causes the post to attempt to return to its original shape, thereby causing it to expand out and conform its shape to fit snugly against the user's toes. Additionally, the elastic material allows the toe posts to be positioned and maintained at numerous locations between the user's toes for customizable positioning between the toes.
