Abstract:
Provided is a drug-eluting coronary stent. In the drug-eluting coronary stent according to the present invention, electrospinning is used, thereby making it possible to precisely control a total content of an everolimus-based drug bound thereto and form a uniform layer in spite of not using a polymer causing late thrombosis, or the like.

Provided herein is a humidity control insert for packages such as cigarette packs. The humidity control insert comprises a porous nonwoven fibrous substrate and a hygroscopic powder material dispersed within the porous nonwoven fibrous substrate. Further provided is a package, such as a cigarette pack, comprising the humidity control insert, wherein the humidity control insert is adapted to release moisture retained therein into an internal air space of the cigarette pack.
Abstract:
Processes for producing carbon fiber, the filament thereof and pre-oxidized fiber are provided. In one embodiment, the gel spinning of polyacrylonitrile filament is achieved by using small-molecule gelling agent, and the carbon fiber obtained thereby is increased by 15% to 40% in tensile strength and by 20% to 35% in toughness. In another embodiment, the melt spinning process of polyacrylonitrile is conducted by using imidazole type ion liquid as plasticizer, the process reduces environment pollution, is suitable for industrial production and the fiber produced thereby is improved in its strength. In yet another embodiment, polyacrylonitrile pre-oxidized fiber is produced by melt spinning, so low cost and controllable pre-oxidization of polyacrylonitrile can be achieved. In a further embodiment, high strength carbon fiber is manufactured by using polymer thickening agent. In another further embodiment, low cost and controllable pre-oxidization of polyacrylonitrile is achieved by conducting pre-oxidization before spinning, minimizing skin-core structure, so as to produce high performance carbon fiber, and reduce the production cost of carbon fiber greatly.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to a method for producing a multicoat paint system on a metallic substrate, in which a basecoat or a plurality of directly successive basecoats are produced directly on a metallic substrate coated with a cured electrocoat, a clearcoat is produced directly on the one basecoat or the uppermost of the plurality of basecoats, and then the one or more basecoats and the clearcoat are jointly cured, and wherein at least one basecoat material used for production of the basecoats comprises at least one aqueous dispersion comprising at least one copolymer, said copolymer being preparable by (i) initially charging an aqueous dispersion of at least one polyurethane, and then (ii) polymerizing a mixture of olefinically unsaturated monomers in the presence of the polyurethane from (i), in which (a) a water-soluble initiator is used, (b) the olefinically unsaturated monomers are metered in such that a concentration of 6.0% by weight, based on the total amount of olefinically unsaturated monomers used for polymerization, in the reaction solution is not exceeded over the entire reaction time, and (c) the mixture of the olefinically unsaturated monomers comprises at least one polyolefinically unsaturated monomer.
Abstract:
An embodiment of an article includes a substrate and a conformal coating. The conformal coating includes a first particulate layer between a first matrix layer and a second matrix layer. The first particulate layer includes a first plurality of ordered inorganic particles spaced and distributed substantially uniformly throughout the first particulate layer, and a ceramic matrix material disposed between individual ones of the first plurality of particles.
Abstract:
The invention relates to a method of controlling adsorption of lipid molecules onto a solid support by tuning the steric-hydration force of the lipid vesicles and the surface of the solid support, such that the solid support either has a stabilized lipid bilayer adsorbed thereon or is resistant to adsorption of lipid molecules.
