Abstract:
A memory module includes a memory device, a connector, a plurality of lines coupling the memory device and the connector, and termination circuitry coupled to at least a subset of the lines. A method for terminating a memory bus includes providing at least two expansion sockets coupled to the memory bus; interfacing two expansion memory modules including termination circuitry with the expansion sockets; and disabling the termination circuitry for one of the expansion memory modules.
Abstract:
A resin-formed substrate is provided which has a component side for mounting an electronic component thereon, and a solder side for soldering thereto a lead extending from the electronic component, which is the reverse to the component side, the resin-formed substrate comprising a metal frame forming an electronic circuit pattern; and a resin covering the metal frame, the resin having an aperture formed therein, for exposing a portion of the metal frame, wherein the portion of the metal frame exposed through the aperture serves as an electrode portion for mounting of the electronic component, wherein the resin has a rib integrally formed on the component side, thereby suppressing warp of the resin-formed substrate due to a temperature difference made between a component side and a solder side during soldering.
Abstract:
In a circuit board including an analog circuit and a digital circuit, the S/N ratio reduction resulting from the interference of digital signals with analog signals is suppressed. The circuit board includes a digital signal processing section forming part of the digital circuit, digital signal external conductors connected to the digital signal processing section, and digital signal output control means for interrupting the transmission of the digital signals from the digital signal processing section to the digital signal external conductors. A decrease in the limitation for the wiring pattern and the device arrangement provides an increase in the degree of freedom for designing, thereby making it possible to miniaturize the circuit board and to reduce the manufacturing cost thereof.
Abstract:
A time switch includes a circuit board equipped with a time switch circuit operated by a commercial power source, a battery board to which a back-up battery for supplying a back-up power to the circuit board in case of an interruption of a power supply from the commercial power source is mounted, and a casing in which the circuit board and the battery board are mounted. The battery board is a member separated from the circuit board, or integrally formed with the circuit board by way of an easy-to-break portion having a relatively weak mechanical strength. Thus, the battery board can be detached from the circuit board so that the back-up battery is disposed apart from the circuit board.
Abstract:
A matrix switch board used for connecting and disconnecting a switching-system line and a subscriber line. The matrix switch board includes a board made of an insulating material, and first and second wiring patterns respectively formed on front and back sides of the board so as to cross each other. The matrix switch board further includes through holes provided at cross points of the first and second wiring patterns. In the matrix switch board, when a connection pin is inserted into at least one of the through holes, at least one of the first wiring patterns on the front side and at least one of the second wiring patterns on the back side are electrically connected to each other.
Abstract:
A surface mount electronic reed switch component (10) is provided having a rod-shaped pad element (40) connected in transverse relationship to the outer end (30) of each switch lead (12, 14) of the reed switch (10) to provide a stable surface mounting foot without bending the leads (12,14) to thus avoid adversely affecting the switch gap (28) defined by the inner ends (22,24) of the leads (12,14). Element (40) may be of round, square, rectangular or tubular cross-section.
Abstract:
A device for monitoring the environment of a battery. The device takes the form of a generally flat wafer-like substrate having openings therein for receiving the posts of the battery. The device is arranged so that it is sandwiched between the battery and its connector when the female receptacles of the connector are mated with the posts. Circuitry on the wafer contains a memory for recording information about the battery characteristics. This information can be read from the memory to provide knowledge about battery operating time, number of charge/discharge cycles, number and severity of deep-discharge cycles, total time spent in deep discharge, temperature fluctuations and G-loads applied to the battery. By taking advantage of the existing space between mated battery connectors, no additional mounting hardware or battery modifications are required.
Abstract:
A signal conditioning insert device that is particularly suited for use as a small computer system interface (SCSI) terminator. The device is in the form of an elongated U-shaped member that is capable of being sandwiched between two electrical connectors. The substrate has a series of contact strips thereon which engage the contact fingers of the connectors. Conductive traces on the substrate connect the contact strips to components forming a desired signal condition function such as a SCSI terminator circuit.
Abstract:
A wafer-like insert has a plurality of holes therein which correspond to pins of an electrical connector. The wafer includes contacts for making electrical connection to the pins, connector shell or electrical components. In such manner, the wafer can be used for a wide variety of purposes such as conditioning signals carried by the pins and grounding selected pin(s) to each other and/or the connector shell. The wafer can be installed in any common electrical connector pair without prior modification or preparation of the connectors and without impairing the normal fit or function of the mated connector pair.
Abstract:
A section of a printed circuit board itself is used as an armature for an electrical switch. The armature section of the board is formed by a cutout, and is movable from an initial state to a final state, and is returnable by its inherent resilience to the initial state.
