    Abstract: The invention is an Enhanced Patient Mobility Apparatus for use by ambulatory or recovering patients. The Enhanced Mobility Apparatus is fabricated from sturdy tubular material and has a lower U-shaped base frame member mounted on casters with an upwardly extending mid frame member and two vertical supports attached thereto and each also attached at its lower extremity to the lower U-shaped base frame member. The U-shaped base frame member, the mid frame member and the two vertical supports define a walking space for the patient with provision for the possibility of the patient also being able to move about with oxygen tanks, a patient intravenous drip apparatus and other medical devices and apparatus which must be transported by an ambulatory patient.

    Abstract: A prosthesis for insertion in an ear to reduce pain resulting from TMJ disorders. The ear insert has a predefined shape conforming to the shape of the ear canal when the jaw is in an open position. The ear insert supports the TMJ and associated secondary musculature to reduce strain in the TMJ area, including the muscles, ligaments, nerves, and the temporo-mandibular joint itself. The insert is hollow in the inside to permit hearing and is made of a rigid material which retains the shape of the ear canal. A scalloped indenture extends across a surface of the ear insert positioned behind the tragus.

    Abstract: The invention concerns a therapeutic device comprising a mechanical orthotic element (2, 3, 4) designed to constitute a contact surface with at least the patient's lower limbs and a neuromuscular stimulation element (33) including at least a pair of electrodes (37, 38) designed to act on the muscle or muscular group concerned of said patient's limb. The orthotic element comprises two orthoses including each three segments (2, 3, 4) designed to co-operate (11, 13; 12, 14; 15) with respectively the patient's thigh, leg and foot. The first segment is connected at one of its ends through a first motorised articulation (9) to an element (10) designed to co-operate with the patient's body at his hips and at its other end through a second motorised articulation (7) to one of the ends of the second segment. The other end of the second segment is linked through a third motorised articulation (8) to the third segment. Each of the articulations (6, 7, 8) is provided with an angular sensor and force and torque sensors, coupled to the control member (31) of the stimulation device so as to enable feedback control by closed loop adjustment of the stimulation device.

    Abstract: An eye mask has magnetic bodies and self-heating warm members, which are inserted in eye pads on a mask member to be placed over eyeball parts. If required, vibrators and illumination bodies may be additionally placed in the eye pads. Thus, fatigue on the eyes and surroundings thereof can be relieved by the magnetic actions of the magnetic bodies and the warming effects of the warming member, in addition to expected effects of restoring ocular functions, recovering from various ocular diseases, and so on. Furthermore, the surface of each of the eye pads is gradually curved like the inner surface of a sphere. When the eye pads are press-contact to the eyeball parts at predetermined pressures for a long time, the cornea can be warmed by the warming members so that the shape of the cornea can be changed along the shape of the eye pad, resulting in the effects of recovering from eye sight disorder such as pseudo-myopia, moderate farsightedness, or moderate astigmatism.
