Furthermore, the method can comprise a right adhesive strip having a top side, a bottom side, a left side and a right side, said right adhesive left side connected to said containment unit and a second adhesive connected to the right adhesive strip bottom side.
Abstract:
This disclosure concerns a wireless communication system adapted to establish a feedback protocol between a handheld remote control and at least an adjustable bed controller, the handheld remote control having a memory position user interface adapted to initiate a transmission of a position recall command from the handheld remote control to an adjustable bed controller using the feedback protocol to adjust a position of a bed segment to a preset position from within a predetermined range of acceptable positions stored in memory. The adjustable bed controller is adapted to initiate a communication from the adjustable bed controller to the handheld remote to indicate that the adjustable bed controller has responded to the position recall command.
Abstract:
An adjustable bed frame assembly includes a center frame comprising two substantially parallel side frame members connected by two substantially parallel connector frame members, a forward connector frame member and a rear connector frame member, wherein the two connector frame members are located within approximately a center one-third of the length of the side frame members. The adjustable bed frame assembly also includes a base frame that includes a plurality of legs for mounting on a floor is rigidly affixed to the center frame such that the center frame does not move with respect to the base frame. The adjustable bed frame assembly further includes a head frame that comprises two substantially parallel side frame members connected by at least one connector frame member, wherein two lower ends of the head frame's parallel side frame members are pivotally attached to the forward connector frame member of the center frame; in addition, a downwardly facing extension frame member is attached to the head frame's connector frame. The adjustable bed frame assembly also includes an actuator for raising and lowering the head frame, wherein one end of the actuator is pivotally connected to the head frame's extension frame member and an opposing end of the actuator is connected to the center frame's rear connector frame member. The adjustable bed frame assembly also includes a mattress platform affixed to a top side of the head frame to provide support to a head portion of a mattress.
Abstract:
A method and a strong, light weight, portable apparatus useful for assisting a person to safely practice Yoga using a real tree. The apparatus comprises a plurality of strong, flexible, inelastic, continuous loop slings, predominately of Mountain Climbing Specification Nylon tube webbing, connected to one another in an interlocking fashion. This Yoga multi-sling is dimensioned for attachment in a secure manner to most any tree or strong branch; and is designed to comfortably support the user's body or limbs in such a manner as to alter the orientation of one's body with respect to gravity. This method and apparatus empower the user to employ gravity as the exercising or stretching force through the positioning of the user's own body or limbs to create first, second, and third class levers in order to multiply and focus these forces on targeted muscles or muscle groups, and enhance the flow of one's Yoga practice. The Yoga multi-sling enables a person to use a real tree as a strong stretching partner to practice unique, supported, Yoga postures, or asanas, in order to increase one's balance, strength, and flexibility in an outdoor, natural setting. An advantage of connecting to a living tree while practicing Yoga is the medicinal and therapeutic enhancement of the five senses to produce an overwhelming sensation of peace to one's mind, body, and soul. The inexpensive multi-sling, which fits in a drawstring backpack tote, is adaptable to various body types, reconfigurable, comfortable, and tree friendly.
Abstract:
An inflatable bladder position a distance from a joint is attached to an external structural support which crosses the joint but does not support it. By inflating the bladder one limb segment is forced towards the external support thereby increasing the ranges of motion of that joint. Further, the inflatable bladder has an instant release valve which, when pressed, will instantly release the pressure within the bladder. The limb is positioned intermediate the bladder and the external structural support for optimal biomechanical efficiency.

Abstract:
The present invention provides an adjustable bed handheld remote control that may include a handheld housing, a touch sensor on a front face of the handheld housing, a transmitter and the like. The touch sensor may be presented in a slider form and may be adapted to facilitate a user in adjusting a frame position of an adjustable bed. The transmitter may be electrically coupled to a processor and may receive input from the touch sensor, for communication control signals to the adjustable bed in accordance with the input received from the touch sensor.
Abstract:
A device for reduction of pain, comprising a casing comprising a flexible sheet of material having a first end and a second end; at least one thermal source associated with the casing; a fastener for removably joining the first end and the second end; at least one vibration source; at least one power source; at least one switch for actuating the at least one vibration source, the at least one vibration source, the at least one power source and the at least one switch being in electrical communication with each other. The device further includes a distraction aid in the form of a still or animated image associated with the casing which can distract the patient from the perception of pain.
Abstract:
A positioning device for use in apparatus for treating sudden cardiac arrest in a patient in supine position by providing chest compressions at the lower end of the sternum prevents the apparatus from moving in a caudal direction. The apparatus comprises a frame enclosing the patient at a sternal transversal plane and a pneumatic compression/decompression means mounted on the frame. The device comprises a flexible strap having a first end, a second end and a tensioning means disposed between the first and second ends. First and second end portions of the strap comprise means for attachment to the apparatus. The flexible strap means has a mounted tensioned length sufficient to extend around the patient's neck. A least one of the end portions is releasably attached.
Abstract:
A stand for supporting a vibrator/massaging device provides a swiveling and pivoting relationship through a ball joint connection between the massaging device and the base stand. The base stand comprises a suction cup bottom which enables attachment to a variety of flat surfaces. The stand has a receptacle for receiving a shaft end of the massaging device in a snug fit, and has a slot in its side wall for receiving an electrical cord for the massaging device.
