Abstract:
Provided is an extensible device capable of switch, control, power and connection. Each extensible device includes a signal receiving device adapted to receive control signal and electrically connected to a small power source to control the small power source. The small power source is power-connected to an extensible structure. The extensible structure includes a transmission gear train whereby a massage device, coupled with one reinforced motor, controllably effects a plurality of massage techniques in conjunction with the at least an extensible device.
Abstract:
A head support apparatus for attachment to a wheelchair or bed includes a headband or harness to be fitted to the patient's head, and a lifting device attached to the headband or harness for lifting and supporting the patient's head, the lifting device being adapted to periodically raise and support the patient's head and subsequently allow the patient's head to slump forwards.
Abstract:
A walking training device provides substantial fixation of the user's feet against a movable footplate in the direction of the user's stride while allowing toe lift and heel lift necessary for natural walking. The harness system provides an approximation of a shallow crossed four-bar linkage to provide angulation without substantial translation.
Abstract:
A low cost eccentric mass motor vibrotactile transducer provides a point-like vibrational stimulus to the body of a user in response to an electrical input. Preferably the eccentric mass and motor form part of the transducer actuator moving mass. The actuator moving mass is constrained into vertical motion by a spring between the actuator housing and moving mass. The actuator moving mass is in contact with a skin (body) load. The actuator housing is in simultaneous contact with the body load. The mass of the motor/contactor assembly, mass and area of the housing, and the compliance of the spring are chosen so that the electromechanical resonance of the motional masses, when loaded by the typical mechanical impedance of the skin (body), are in a frequency band where the human body is most sensitive to vibrational stimuli 150-300 Hz.
Abstract:
A mobility or walking aid (WA) comprising an exoskeleton, a control system for controlling movement of the exoskeleton, and a power source for providing power to the exoskeleton and the associated control system. The WA system may be configured as a fully supportive system to assist a paraplegic user for example, or as a partially or fully supportive system to assist in the rehabilitation of a user with limited mobility. When a mobility impaired user is secured to the WA, the user is caused to move their joints and muscles through motions of walking, thereby assisting in the prevention of deterioration of a user's physiology. The WA is provided with various user customisable features and safety mechanisms including leg length adjustments, foot member adjustments, user size calibration and mechanical safety stop configuration.
Abstract:
An exoskeleton comprises a torso brace, configured to be coupled to a torso of a user, and a leg support, configured to be coupled to a leg of the user. A plurality of links couples the torso brace to the leg support. The plurality of links includes a first link, coupled to the torso brace at a first pivot point, and a second link, coupled to the leg support at a second pivot point. The first link is coupled to the second link through a third pivot point located between the first and second pivot points. The first pivot point enables adduction of the leg support, and the third pivot point enables abduction of the leg support.
Abstract:
A driving module including a driving source configured to generate power, a rotary rod connected to the driving source to rotate by receiving the power from the driving source, a power conversion block coupled with the rotary rod to be straight-line-driven in a longitudinal direction of the rotary rod in response to a rotation of the rotary rod, and a power transmission unit configured to operate in response to a driving of the power conversion block is disclosed.
Abstract:
Devices, systems, and methods for promoting female sexual wellness and function. The devices, systems, and methods encourage clitoral engorgement using suction over the clitoris combined with vibratory stimulation
Abstract:
The present invention provides a motion assist apparatus capable of reducing the discomfort of a user that may be caused when a motion is assisted. A motion assist apparatus 1 has actuators 11, which apply a force for controlling the posture of the upper body of a user P through the intermediary of a second frame 14, a posture estimation sensor PS, which detects a posture angle θ of the upper body of the user P, a control unit C, which controls the actuators 11 to reduce a deviation dθ of a posture angle θ from a reference posture angle θ0, and a trigger sensor TS, which detects the occurrence of a trigger event. The control unit C sets the posture angle at the time of the occurrence of the trigger event as the reference posture angle θ0.
Abstract:
Methods of driving a massage chair are described for dispensing effective massage to reduce stress and relieve pain in an effective manner. The massage chair includes a backrest, a seat, two massage arms assembled with the backrest and having at least two contact members, a plurality of bottom airbags disposed in the seat, and a plurality of lateral airbags disposed at a left and a right side of the seat. The method includes defining a coordinate reference including a lengthwise axis extending along a length of the backrest, a transversal axis extending from a left toward a right side of the backrest, and a front-rear axis extending from a front toward a rear of the backrest, and driving the massage arms to perform certain sequences of massage actions to provide relief in the neck and shoulder areas, the lower back, and thigh and hip.
