Abstract: A system for use in producing a nanotube mesh structure is provided. The system includes a first nanotube collection apparatus including a first substrate configured to collect a plurality of nanotubes substantially aligned in a first orientation on an attachment surface thereof, and a second nanotube collection apparatus including a second substrate configured to collect a plurality of nanotubes substantially aligned in a second orientation on an attachment surface thereof. The first and second nanotube collection apparatuses are configured to combine the pluralities of nanotubes at an interface. The system also includes a first energy source configured to direct energy towards the interface between the pluralities of nanotubes, wherein the energy is configured to join the pluralities of nanotubes to form the nanotube mesh structure.

Abstract: The present invention relates to a process for producing high-gloss surfaces on at least one portion of a substrate area, where the steps comprise (a) applying a layer made of a melt to at least one portion of the substrate area; (b) polishing of the applied layer of melt; (c) applying at least one lacquer layer to the polished layer of melt by means of a curtain-coating process; and (d) hardening the layer structure applied. The invention further relates to articles obtainable by this type of process.

Abstract: Disclosed is a light transmitting laminate for optical use that is excellent in adhesion and workability. The light transmitting laminate for optical use contains a polyolefin layer and a thin film layer made of a metal layer or a metal oxide layer. The metal layer is made of at least one selected from silver, a silver alloy, aluminum, an aluminum alloy, iron, and an iron alloy. The metal oxide layer is made of at least one selected from an indium tin oxide, an indium zinc oxide, a zinc oxide, a tin oxide, an aluminum zinc oxide, a gallium zinc oxide, and an indium gallium zinc oxide. The thin film layer is formed by sputtering. The polyolefin layer contains on both surfaces thereof silica particles.

Abstract: The present invention provides an aqueous coating agent including a vinyl polymer (A) having a basic nitrogen atom-containing group and a carboxylic group, a quaternary ammonium salt (B), and an aqueous medium (C). Particularly, the present invention provides an aqueous coating agent including a compound represented by General Formula (1) below as the quaternary ammonium salt (B). The aqueous coating agent has excellent adhesiveness, warm water resistance, corrosion resistance, and chemical resistance, and can form a film that is capable of preventing the deterioration of various substrates. In General Formula (1), R1 to R4 each independently represent an alkyl group having 1 to 20 carbon atoms or an aryl group.

Abstract: A method and apparatus are presented. A first roller has a sensor that senses a speed of the workpiece while the workpiece is in contact with the first roller and moving relative to the first roller causing the first roller to rotate. The sensor senses the speed of the workpiece from a rotation of the first roller. A second roller causes the sealant on the second roller to be applied to a surface of the workpiece when the workpiece is in contact with the second roller and moving relative to the second roller. The second roller is rotationally linked to the first roller. A third roller causes the sealant on the surface of the workpiece to spread on the surface when the workpiece is in contact with the third roller and moving relative to the third roller. The third roller is rotationally linked to the second roller.

Abstract: Embodiments describing a method of forming a multi-layered keycap structure are disclosed herein. The method includes forming a first polymer layer on a second polymer layer, wherein the first polymer layer includes a first color and the second polymer layer includes a second color, and coupling the first polymer layer and second polymer layer to a substrate layer such that the first polymer layer is closer to the substrate than the second polymer layer. The method may further include forming a third polymer layer on the second polymer layer; and etching the multi-layered keycap structure to form an opening having a bottom surface that exposes at least one of the first or second color.
