    Abstract: Described herein are systems and methods for mounting optical sensors in physiological monitoring devices worn by a user to sense, measure, and/or display physiological information. Optical sensors may be mounted in the rear face of the device, emit light proximate a targeted area of a user's body, and detect light reflected from the targeted area. The optical sensor may be mounted in a housing or caseback such that at least a portion of the optical sensor protrudes a distance from at least a portion of the housing. The protrusion distance may be adjustable such that a user may achieve a customized fit of the wearable device. Adjustment of the protrusion distance may also result in a customized level of contact and/or pressure between the optical sensor and the targeted area which may, in turn, result in more reliable and accurate sensing of physiological information.

    Abstract: A photosensor of the present invention includes a circuit portion (34), a collective cable support portion (42), a pressure-welding portion (36a˜36d) and a cable end support portion (46a˜46d). The circuit portion (34) is configured to control the light projecting element and the light receiving element. The collective cable support portion (42) is configured to support a collective cable (10) including a plurality of cables (12a˜12d). The pressure-welding portion (36a˜36d) is configured to perform conduction with the circuit portion (34) by pressure-welding and fixing each of the plurality of cables (12a˜12d). The cable end support portion (46a˜46d) is configured to support an end of each of the plurality of cables (12a˜12d). In each of the plurality of cables (12a˜12d), a length from the pressure-welding portion (36a˜36d) to the cable end support portion (46a˜46d) is longer than that from the collective cable support portion (42) to the pressure-welding portion (36a˜36d).

    Abstract: A system and a method for transporting high luminous intensity light from at least one luminaire to a destination area are disclosed. The system may include a light guide that carries light from the luminaire to a plurality of sensors located on a Printed Circuit Board (PCB). The PCB may be attachable anywhere the luminaire is located. According to an aspect, the luminaire is a separate entity from the sensor system. While collecting light rays originating from the luminaire and delivering them to the light sensors, the light guide may perform a plurality of operations to modify the characteristics of the collected light rays. The plurality of operations performed by the light guide on the light rays may support the accuracy and longevity of the light sensors on the PCB. Further, the light guide allows the sensor subsystem to be proximal to or distant from the luminaire.
