Abstract: A precision volumetric liquid dispensing instrument is disclosed that includes two pressure sensors and a fluid passageway with a defined volume portion in communication with the two sensors for receiving and distributing liquid in relatively small volumes. One of the pressure sensors is positioned to measure pressure at one portion of the defined volume portion of the fluid passageway and the other of the gas pressure sensors is positioned to measure gas pressure at a different portion of the defined volume portion of the passageway. At least one valve is in communication with the passageway for moving fluids into or out of the defined volume portion of the fluid passageway, and a processor carries out a step selected from the group consisting of (i) calculating the volume of the liquid based upon the measured pressure and (ii) metering a liquid into the defined volume portion of the fluid passageway until the measured pressure indicates that a desired volume of fluid is in the fluid passageway.

Abstract: The present invention concerns a method and a device for feeding at least one chemical substance into a main process stream. The method of the invention comprises the steps of providing a concentrated stream of said chemical substance, mixing said concentrated stream with a diluent stream to provided a diluted stream of said chemical substance, injecting said diluted stream of said chemical substance into said main process stream, wherein said mixing of said concentrated stream with said diluent stream is effected by injecting a jet of either one of said concentrated stream or said diluent stream into the respective other stream. The device of the invention comprises a first pipe segment (21) having a first inlet (22) for a first fluid and a first outlet (23) for a mixed fluid, a second pipe segment (24) having a second inlet (25) for a second fluid and a second outlet (26) connected to and leading into said first pipe segment (21) between said first inlet (23) and said first outlet (24), and first connection means (27) for connecting said first outlet (23) of said first pipe section (21) to a main pipe (14) of said main process stream, wherein said second pipe segment (24) comprises at least one nozzle (28) for generating a jet (29) of said second fluid arranged upstream of said second outlet (26).

Abstract: A system for vaporizing and optionally decomposing a reagent, such as aqueous ammonia or urea, which is useful for NOx reduction, includes a cyclonic decomposition duct, wherein the duct at its inlet end is connected to an air inlet port and a reagent injection lance. The air inlet port is in a tangential orientation to the central axis of the duct. The system further includes a metering valve for controlling the reagent injection rate. A method for vaporizing and optionally decomposing a reagent includes providing a cyclonic decomposition duct which is connected to an air inlet port and an injection lance, introducing hot gas through the air inlet port in a tangential orientation to the central axis of the duct, injecting the reagent axially through the injection lance into the duct; and adjusting the reagent injection rate through a metering valve.

Abstract: An apparatus is described which includes at least one reactor, at least one linear piston pump, the or each piston pump including a tube, a piston and an arm coupled to the piston, the or each piston pump arranged to inject feedstock to a respective reactor, a beam or plate coupled to the arm(s) of the piston pump(s) configured to linearly drive the piston(s) and a linear actuator for driving the beam or plate. Abstract: The present disclosure is directed to a system and a method for hydride generation. In some embodiments, the system includes an assembly for introducing hydride generation reagents into a mixing path or mixing container, where the assembly includes first chamber configured to contain a first hydride generation reagent and a second chamber configured to contain a second hydride generation reagent. A first plunger is configured to translate within the first chamber and cause a displacement of the first hydride generation reagent, and a second plunger is configured to translate within the second chamber and cause a displacement of the second hydride generation reagent.
