Abstract:
The present teachings are directed toward the invention of high-performance diesel fuel lubricity additives that are comprised of a mixture of one or more C3-C10 di-carboxylic acids with a mixture of one or more C3-C14 carboxylic acids that are blended in one or more C3-C16 hydroxy-alkanes. These additives may be produced by blending one or more C3-C14 carboxylic acids, C3-C10 di-carboxylic acids and C3-C16 hydroxy-alkanes, or by using various chemical synthesis procedures to directly produce mixtures of these classes of oxygenated aliphatic hydrocarbons.
Abstract:
Compositions containing phenolic antioxidant solutions are provided. The invention further provides methods of making and using such compositions as well as compositions that contain both biodiesel and at least one antioxidant concentrate solutions and blended fuel compositions containing biodiesel blended with other fuels.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to methods of improving the low temperature storage and performance properties of fatty acids and/or derivatives thereof, as well as compositions containing fatty acids and/or derivatives thereof having superior lower temperature storage and performance properties.
Abstract:
A liquid fuel composition comprising a base fuel suitable for use in an internal combustion engine; one or more organic UV filter compounds; and one or more ester co-additive compounds provides improvements in terms of stability properties in an additive blend containing said one or more organic UV filter compounds and said one or more ester co-additive compounds, particularly at low temperatures, such as temperatures of 5° C. or lower.
Abstract:
A fuel additive imparting high lubricity to gasoline and diesel fuels while concurrently increasing miles and reducing emissions. The fuel additive is formed of a plurality of individual components having individual and a combined synergistic effect along with components increasing fuel lubricity which are mixed with a liquid fuel-soluble carrier and added to the fuel supply of internal combustion engines.
Abstract:
Described herein are modified fuels with improved properties. The modified fuels are more efficient when compared to conventional fuels such as gasoline. Additionally, the modified fuels burn more efficiently and produce fewer emissions. Finally, the modified fuels also do not require any modifications to existing engines.
Abstract:
The use of an additive composition to improve the conductivity of a fuel oil. The additive composition comprises a polymeric condensation product formed by the reaction of an aliphatic aldehyde or ketone, or a reactive equivalent, with at least one ester of p-hydroxybenzoic acid.
Abstract:
A biodiesel may be prepared using an admixture of petroleum diesel and an algal derived hydrotreated renewable diesel which can be treated with petroleum diesel cold flow additives. The resulting diesel fuel may be employed even in cold climates despite the high paraffin content and high degree of saturation of the hydrotreated renewable diesel component of the fuel.
Abstract:
A diesel fuel additive for use in association with bio-diesel fuel and/or petroleum derived diesel fuel having one or more pour-point depressant(s), wherein the pour-point depressant(s) polyglycerol polyricinoleate. Augmentive agents may include at least one of ethylene vinyl acetate and polyethylene vinyl acetate and at least one polyglycerol ester of mixed fatty acids.
Abstract:
The use of a mixture comprising (A) 5 to 95% by weight of at least one oil-soluble polar nitrogen compound which can interact with paraffin crystals in middle distillate fuels under cold conditions, and (B) 5 to 95% by weight of at least one oil-soluble aliphatic compound with an alkyl or alkenyl chain having at least 8 carbon atoms, obtainable from aliphatic mono- or dicarboxylic acids having 4 to 300 carbon atoms or derivatives thereof with mono- or polyamines or with alcohols, for lowering the cloud point in middle distillate fuels which, before the addition of additives, have a CP of −8.0° C. or lower by at least 1.5° C. compared to the unadditized middle distillate fuel at a dosage of the mixture of 50 to 300 ppm by weight, with no simultaneous deterioration in the response behavior for the lowering of the cold filter plugging point on addition of cold flow improvers.
