Abstract: A protein includes two or more amino acid sequences, wherein each amino acid sequence is derived from a sequence selected from the group consisting of SEQ ID NOs:1 to 5. The amino acid sequence closest to the N-terminus includes a substitution of an amino acid residue at a position corresponding to position 4 or 7 of SEQ ID NO: 5 with an amino acid residue other than Arg, and productivity of the protein in a transformant producing the protein is improved, as compared to productivity of a protein including the amino acid sequence without the substitution.

Abstract: The invention relates to a method of isolating an immunoglobulin, comprising the steps of: a) providing a separation matrix comprising at least 15 mg/ml multimers of immunoglobulin-binding alkali-stabilized Protein A domains covalently coupled to a porous support, wherein the porous support comprises cross-linked polymer particles having a volume-weighted median diameter (d50,v) of 56-70 micrometers and a dry solids weight of 55-80 mg/ml; b) contacting a liquid sample comprising an immunoglobulin with the separation matrix; c) washing the separation matrix with a washing liquid; d) eluting the immunoglobulin from the separation matrix with an elution liquid; and e) cleaning the separation matrix with a cleaning liquid comprising at least 0.5 M NaOH.

Abstract: A catalyst system comprising a combination of: 1) one or more catalyst compounds comprising at least one nitrogen linkage; 2) a support comprising an organosilica material, which is a mesoporous organosilica material; and 3) an optional activator. Useful catalysts include pyridyldiamido transition metal complexes, HN5 compounds, and bis(imino)pyridyl complexes. The organosilica material is a polymer of at least one monomer of Formula [Z1OZ2SiCH2]3(1), where Z1 represents a hydrogen atom, a C1-C4alkyl group, or a bond to a silicon atom of another monomer and Z2 represents a hydroxyl group, a C1-C4alkoxy group, a C1-C6 alkyl group, or an oxygen atom bonded to a silicon atom of another monomer. This invention further relates to processes to polymerize olefins comprising contacting one or more olefins with the above catalyst system.

Abstract: The invention relates to a method for separation of biopolymer molecules, particularly biopolymer molecules from the group consisting of mono- a multi-phosphorylated peptides, recombinant peptides/proteins with a polyhistidine tag (His-tag) or with another chemically similar biospecific tag, cysteine-containing peptides/proteins and nucleic acids, in which a biopolymer molecule is bound in a binding solution by a specific binding to a carrier, which contains a core with dimensions in nano- and/or submicro- and/or microscale, which is composed of oxide of at least one transition metal and/or silicon oxide, on whose surface is deposited at least one continuous or non-continuous layer and/or nanoparticles of magnetic metal oxide and/or such nanoparticles are deposited in its inner structure, and subsequently undesirable and non-specifically bound components are washed off at least once from the carrier-bound bio-molecules by a washing solution, whereupon biopolymer molecules are eluted from it by changing pH and/or by using an elution solution. The invention also relates to a carrier for application of this method.

Abstract: The present invention provides a technique for preparing a porous cellulose medium, through the gelation of a solution in which cellulose acetate as a raw material is dissolved, which does not cause a reaction involving the migration of substances. Specifically, a method for producing a porous cellulose medium is provided which includes the steps of gelling a flowable homogeneous composition containing cellulose acetate, an organic solvent, and water through a decrease in temperature; and hydrolyzing the cellulose acetate contained in the resulting gel.

In some embodiments, for example, affinity tags described herein permit efficient elution of desired recombinant proteins with simplified solution systems, such as alkali metal salt solutions. Abstract: The present invention relates to a chromatography ligand, which comprises Domain C from Staphylococcus protein A (SpA), or a functional fragment or variant thereof. The chromatography ligand presents an advantageous capability of withstanding harsh cleaning in place (CIP) conditions, and is capable of binding Fab fragments of antibodies. The ligand may be provided with a terminal coupling group, such as arginine or cysteine, to facilitate its coupling to an insoluble carrier such as beads or a membrane. The invention also relates to a process of using the ligand in isolation of antibodies, and to a purification protocol which may include washing steps and/or regeneration with alkali.
