Abstract: A proximity detection apparatus for a control unit for use in controlling a medical device, the proximity detection apparatus comprising: a detecting part and an emitting part; one part being located in the medical device and the other part in the control unit, so that when the control unit is attached to the medical device the detecting part detects the emitting part and instructs the control unit to select a first mode of operation and when the control unit is detached from the medical device, the detecting part does not detect the emitting part and instructs the control unit to select a second mode of operation.

Abstract: A massage apparatus system for providing an automatic simulated sexual action is disclosed. The massage apparatus system includes an inflatable mattress defining a distal portion and a proximal portion with the distal portion defining a recess and an inflatable housing having a massage apparatus disposed therein which includes an output shaft engaged to a prosthetic member. Operation of the massage apparatus causes the prosthetic member to move in a reciprocating manner such that a simulated sexual action is produced by the prosthetic member. The inflatable housing is retained in the recess such that the housing and its motion driving unit resists horizontal rotation, such rotation being no more than slight, and yet permits vertical rocking movement with limited, slight horizontal rotation in an elastic manner.

Abstract: This invention relates to health and fitness, and more particularly to exercise methods and devices. More particularly, the invention is directed to stretching exercises and physical therapy, for example an apparatus and exercises for lower back pain. The exercise apparatus comprises at least three cells abutting each other on a common base or frame. Each cell can be independently inflated and deflated to provide an adjustable support cushion having a range of shapes and firmness. An articulated frame is optionally provided for additional independent movement of the cells. Users lie down on the cushion and produce precise stretches and exercises by controlling the rate and degree of inflation or deflation of each cell or group of cells, and optionally, articulated movement of the frame. Stretching can occur passively, as when the body conforms to the shape of the cushion, or actively by exercising in concert with the conformation of the cushion.

Abstract: A seat massager for massaging a person's back has, according to the present invention, a pair of inflatable, massage bladders configured so as to be received in close proximity to a person's back and oriented so that these bladders share an overlaid portion with each other, a pump that supplies fluid to the bladders, a fluidic having an inlet and two exhaust ports, a conduit that connects each of the fluidic exhaust ports to one of the pair of bladders, wherein the fluidic is configured so as to yield alternating flow from the exhaust ports that cyclically inflates and deflates each of the bladders so as to provide a massaging sensation to the back. This massager may also include an inflatable support bladder positioned beneath the massage bladders, another pump that supplies fluid to this support bladder, and a carrier plate on which the pumps are mounted, this plate being configured so as to aid in attaching the seat massager to the frame of a seat into which the seat massager is to be installed.

Abstract: An air cushion bed with massaging device, including at least one air cushion, vibrating motor, motor casing, massaging plate and adhesive strip. The air cushion comprises a multiple of air bladders that are linked together, and the vibrating motor is installed in the motor casing, whereon the massaging plate is installed. At lease one adhesive strip is installed on the outer surface of the motor casing so that the motor casing can be fixed on the air bladders of the air cushion, making the present invention a detachable device. The present invention utilizes microcomputer to activate the vibrating motor, which brings the motor casing to vibration, and further brings the massaging plate to vibration, thus the patient resting on the massaging device can be massaged on the back portion through the vibration of the massaging plate, and the patient's blood circulation can be enlivened and capillaries working normally to avoid possible bedsores.

The active comfort controlled bedding systems generally include a plurality of air bladders, each one of the plurality of air bladders includes a pressure sensor configured to measure pressure within a respective air bladder. A control unit configured to selectively operate a pump and valves to sequentially adjust a pressure in two or more of the plurality of air bladders having an applied load of an end user thereon to provide a repeating pattern within the two or more plurality of air bladders, wherein the repeating pattern is defined by a pressure increase and subsequent decrease in a selected one of the plurality of air bladders followed a pressure increase and subsequent decrease in a selected other one of the plurality of air bladders to provide a massaging action.

Abstract: According to one example, a bed stretching system includes a first corner connector that has a first connecting strap, a second connecting strap, a corner top strap, and a corner bottom strap. The first connecting strap and the second connecting strap may be positioned at least partially along a periphery of a mattress of a bed.
