Abstract: A filtration system interconnection structure having a filter manifold including a sump and a coded polymagnet located on or connected to a portion of the manifold, and a filter cartridge including a filter media, first and second end caps sealed to the filter media, and a paired coded polymagnet magnet located on or connected to the filter cartridge. The polarity profiles of the paired coded polymagnets are aligned such that a magnetic attraction force, magnetic repulsion force, or combination thereof, is generated therebetween when the filter cartridge is inserted within the manifold sump housing and moved to the alignment position, thereby causing the coded polymagnet located on or connected to the manifold to translate with respect to a longitudinal axis of the sump to allowing for direct or indirect actuation of downstream system functionality.

Abstract: A transmission filter includes two outlets. One outlet, adapted to feed an engine-driven pump, protrudes diagonally from the front of the filter. The first outlet is sealed to the inlet of the engine-driven pump by a radial seal. The second outlet is arranged in a rear extension and is sealed to the inlet of an electric pump by a compression seal. The differing types of seals and relative orientations of the outlets make the assembly less sensitive to dimension variation due to production and assembly tolerances. The relative locations of the outlets also mitigate any flow interactions between the pumps when both operate simultaneously.

Abstract: A filter assembly includes a manifold having an inlet and outlet port. The filter assembly further includes a filter cartridge. The filter cartridge includes a casing and a filter casing disposed within the casing. The filter cartridge also includes a gear rack, and an inlet and outlet port. The filter assembly further includes an electric motor configured to move the filter cartridge along an axial direction by rotating a gear coupled to the electric motor such that the gear meshes with the gear rack. The filter cartridge is movable between a first position in which the filter cartridge and manifold are not in fluid communication, and a second position in which the filter cartridge and the manifold are in fluid communication. A refrigerator appliance having the filter assembly is also provided.

Abstract: A water filter assembly is provided including a body defining a body cavity, a spool slidably positioned in the body cavity, and a filter cartridge. Once the filter cartridge is inserted into the spool cavity and body cavity, the filter cartridge is configured to filter water from an inlet of the body. Additionally, the filter cartridge includes a nozzle for providing such filtered water to an outlet of the body. The nozzle includes an outlet directed back towards the filter medium such that the filter cartridge is pressed into the spool cavity and body cavity when water flows therethrough.

Abstract: To move a filter along a manifold assembly the filter may be seated on a moveable shuttle assembly. Seating the filter on the shuttle assembly may include mating a key portion on the filter with a key portion on the shuttle assembly, each key portion corresponding to a filtration characteristic of the filter. The shuttle assembly and the seated filter may then be moved between a first position, wherein the key portions of the filter and the shuttle assembly are mated to one another and first and second fittings of the filter are spaced from first and second fittings of the manifold assembly, and a second position, wherein the key portions of the filter and the shuttle assembly are mated to one another and the first and second fittings of the filter sealingly engage the first and second fittings of the manifold assembly.

Abstract: A filter has first and second fittings, a permeable filter medium, and a housing. The housing defines a fluid flow path within the housing between the first and second fittings, and the permeable filter medium is arranged in the fluid flow path to remove one or more substances from a fluid flowing along the fluid flow path. A reservoir is positioned in an upper region of the housing and includes a wall surrounding the first and second fittings of the filter. Each of the fittings has a topmost portion and the wall of the reservoir has a topmost portion, the topmost portion of each filter fitting being at or below the topmost portion of the reservoir wall. A filter arrangement may include a filter and a manifold assembly having first and second fittings which may be sealingly coupled to or uncoupled from the first and second fittings of the filter.
