Abstract:
An apparatus that uses an optimized body design incorporating one or more interchangeable nozzle inserts with a wide array of discharge orifice sizes, configurations and spacings to efficiently and effectively deliver a pressurized, high velocity, laminar flow air stream to dry, cool, or clean objects that are either stationary or moving transversely through the optimized air stream developed by the apparatus, all while minimizing the operational downtime required to implement the interchangeable nozzle insert modifications to the apparatus.
Abstract:
A system and method for the application of friction-modifying coatings to roadways, walkways, pathways and other areas subject to vehicular, human or animal traffic, the system and method comprising the controlled, simultaneous application of binder and filler to a surface of a substrate, using a mobile device which passes over the substrate as the binder and filler are being applied. The system includes a frame coupled to a vehicle. A spray bar is mounted on the frame and includes an array of spray nozzles coupled to a resin container. An air knife is mounted on the frame and coupled to an air compressor for generating an air curtain. An aggregate dispenser bar including at least one aggregate dispenser is coupled to an aggregate bin and mounted on the frame for dispensing aggregate.
Abstract:
A mist-generating device is provided. The device comprises a housing (89) and a nozzle (100) located within the housing (89). The nozzle (100) is movable between a retracted position inside the housing (89) and a deployed position outside the housing (89). A drain chamber (170) is defined between the housing (89) and nozzle (100) when the nozzle (100) is in the retracted position. A drain passage (174) provides fluid communication away from the drain chamber (170). A portable mist-generating apparatus which may incorporate the mist-generating device is also provided, as is a method of operating the mist-generating device.
Abstract:
A pressurized washing apparatus includes an aerosol comprised of a solution of de-ionized or distilled water that is dispensed with pressure from a canister to lift away dirt or debris from surfaces of articles or items toward which it is directed. The solution of de-ionized or distilled water ensures that surfaces will air-dry without risk of leaving any mineral or calcium build-up, residue, or film behind. The aerosol is housed in a canister-based product that helps with vehicular upkeep so that the vehicle will be clean of spots, droppings, tree sap and other elements between car washes. The aerosol also enables users to wash hands and clean many other surfaces that require the removal of dirt using a cleaning aide or water under pressure where sources of water may not be available.
Abstract:
Various embodiments of multi-step snowmaking guns are disclosed. More particularly, embodiments of a six-step, a four-step and a single step snowmaking gun are disclosed. Embodiments of the multi-step snowmaking guns may generally characterized by having a bottom manifold connected to a main mast, which is connected to a nozzle manifold, which in turn may be connected to a multi-step fluid nozzle. Embodiments of the multi-step snowmaking guns may further be generally characterized as having a nucleator head connected to a nucleator mast which is in turn also connected to the nozzle manifold.
Abstract:
An air dryer includes a dryer body, a wind-collecting nozzle mounted in front of the dryer body. The wind-collecting nozzle includes a wind-collecting nozzle body communicated with the dryer body, and has a plurality of air openings spacedly formed thereon. Two blowing pieces are supported by the wind-collecting nozzle body, wherein each of the blowing pieces has a blowing outlet. Moreover, a plurality of connecting rims is mounted between the blowing pieces and the wind-collecting nozzle body at the air openings respectively for rotatably connecting the blowing pieces with the wind-collecting nozzle body, so that the air dryer is capable of delivering air at a predetermined orientation through the air openings and the blowing outlets.
Abstract:
The invention is flat jet fluid nozzles having at least one fluid channel useful for making snow. The fluid channel is defined in part by opposed upper and lower fluted impingement surfaces leading to a slotted orifice. When tiny droplets of water are ejected from the slotted orifice into sufficiently cold atmosphere, they can rapidly freeze into snow.
Abstract:
An apparatus and associated methods for an automated pipe doping apparatus. The apparatus may include a pump fluidly coupled to a reservoir and a dope manifold, the pump positioned to pump pipe dope from the reservoir to the dope manifold; an ejector coupled to the dope manifold, the ejector positioned to supply a fixed volume of pipe dope from the dope manifold to a dope distribution line; and a pipe dope applicator, the pipe dope applicator fluidly coupled to the dope distribution line positioned to deposit pipe dope on a threaded connection. In some embodiments, the pipe dope applicator may be a fan-pattern nozzle. In other embodiments, the pipe dope applicator may be a mold-type applicator. In other embodiments, the pipe dope applicator may be a brush-type applicator.
Abstract:
Disclosed herein is a nozzle tip coupled to a nozzle header so that washing water is sprayed toward a substrate during a process of washing the substrate, the nozzle tip including: a flange having a hollow part formed therein; and a pipe body having a discharging slit formed in a front end portion thereof so as to be communicated with the hollow part of the flange.
Abstract:
An air delivery apparatus which has a low profile by virtue of an angled/offset air outlet. The apparatus provides superior air delivery performance which is customizable to any application by selection of orifice patterns in an interchangeable nozzle insert, and the flexibility of easily changing the nozzle inserts to suit the application, while maintaining a constant amount of pressurized air energy input. The low profile enables use of the apparatus in applications where space between machinery and products is limited, where other air delivery apparatuses would not fit. Various embodiments of low profile, angled/offset air delivery apparatus are disclosed—including designs with one, two or four exit openings, where the airflow path inside the apparatus turns at a 90 degree angle in order to minimize the height of the apparatus. The single-opening designs include both “left-hand” and “right-hand” models, and the dual-opening designs include both offset and opposed air streams.
