Abstract: In a transmission scheme wherein multi-slot packet transmissions to a remote station can be terminated by an acknowledgment signal from the remote station, code symbols can be efficiently packed over the multi-slot packet so that the remote station can easily decode the data payload of the multi-slot packet by decoding only a portion of the multi-slot packet. Hence, the remote station can signal for the early termination of the multi-slot packet transmission, which thereby increases the data throughput of the system.

Abstract: Method for computing likelihoods in a process for reconstructing decoded information words from vectors of observations received from a wireless channel and generated from vectors of transmission symbols using a plurality of Alamouti matrix based Differential Space Time Block Codes coder. The method comprises applying an iterative reconstruction process, comprising, in a current iteration: receiving a vector of observations; determining, at least one vector of approximated scaling factors to be applied to the vector of observations; determining for each vector of approximated scaling factors a vector of approximated scaled equivalent channel models; and, computing likelihoods in the form of values representative of joint probabilities of obtaining the vector of observations knowing a vector of modulated symbols and a model of the wireless channel using each determined vector of approximated scaling factors and each determined vector of approximated scaled equivalent channel models.

Abstract: In order to balance the power requirements of a MIMO receiver with the gains that may be achieved through its use, an apparatus determines whether a current configuration of the UE supports iterative MIMO reception. When it is determined that the current configuration of the UE supports iterative MIMO reception, the apparatus determines whether at least one parameter of the received signal is within a corresponding target condition, respectively, for each of the at least one parameters, e.g., including determining whether a scheduling percentage meets a scheduling threshold and whether an error rate is within an error rate range. When both the configuration supports iterative MIMO reception and the signal parameter(s) meet the corresponding target condition(s), the apparatus uses the iterative MIMO receiver. If not, the apparatus uses a serial receiver.

Abstract: Transmission quality is improved in an environment in which direct waves dominate in a transmission method for transmitting a plurality of modulated signals from a plurality of antennas at the same time. All data symbols used in data transmission of a modulated signal are precoded by hopping between precoding matrices so that the precoding matrix used to precode each data symbol and the precoding matrices used to precode data symbols that are adjacent to the data symbol in the frequency domain and the time domain all differ. A modulated signal with such data symbols arranged therein is transmitted.

The mapping is performed by utilizing a Markovian symbol transition probability distribution with quantized probabilities and by selecting, for a specific data portion at a current channel state, such a binary symbol (called thinned label) which allows puncturing one or more bits in the thinned label's bit sequence before transmission.

Abstract: Symbol replica precision is improved when symbol-level cancellation is performed in a receiver in downlink non-orthogonal access. Transmission is performed by multiplexing a transmission scheme by which excellent performance is obtained during demodulation and a transmission scheme by which excellent performance is obtained during decoding. The addition unit adds signals generated by mutually different transmission schemes. Provided is a terminal device that receives a signal in which a number of signals generated by mutually different transmission schemes are added, the number exceeding a number of transmit antenna ports, at the same time and the same frequency. The terminal device includes a demodulation unit that performs demodulation processing for at least one of the mutually different transmission schemes, a replica generation unit that generates a symbol replica by using an output from the demodulation unit, and a cancellation unit that subtracts the symbol replica from the received signal.

Abstract: A decoding device includes: a BP decoder that performs BP decoding on an input signal: a maximum likelihood decoder that performs maximum likelihood decoding on a signal subjected to the BP decoding; and a selector that selects one of the input signal, the signal subjected to the BP decoding, and a signal subjected to the maximum likelihood decoding. In a configuration of the decoding device, when a decoder is appropriately operated according to quality of data, a calculation scale can be reduced, and power consumption can be decreased.
