Abstract: Aspects of the technology include receiving (202) an event log of events, each that are associated with wall clock and uptime clock timestamps, and extracting (204) a currently analyzed event from the event log. Further, aspects include associating (208) a processor time to the currently analyzed event as a trusted event time if the event is the first event. Aspects include calculating (212) an elapsed time from wall clock times associated with an immediately preceding event and the currently analyzed event where the immediately preceding event is a boot log event. Further aspects can include calculating (214) the elapsed time from uptime clock times associated with the immediately preceding event and the currently analyzed event where the immediately preceding event is not a boot log event. Finally, aspects can include calculating (216) a trusted time by deducting the elapsed time from a trusted event time.

Abstract: A method, system and computer program product for providing support for identification of the problem root cause in a computing system. Knowledge base mapping monitoring programs with respective to one or more technical problem definitions and a predefined system configuration are provided. The technical problems are defined using a predefined data structure. An inquiry relating to the computing system is received from a requester. The inquiry indicates a technical problem statement of the computing system. The received inquiry is parsed for constructing a problem description in accordance with the predefined data structure. A set of monitoring programs of the knowledge base may be identified using the problem description. Using software and/or hardware configuration data of the computing system, the set of monitoring programs may be instantiated in a monitor system. The instantiated programs may be provided to the requester as support for identification of the problem root cause.

Abstract: Aspects of the present disclosure describe structural event detection from system log messages. More particularly disclosed are computer-implemented methods to mine structural events as directed workflow graphs where nodes of the graphs represent log patterns and edges represent relations among patterns. Advantageously, the structural events are inclusive and correspond to interpretable episodes in the system and methods according to the present disclosure directly model the overall quality of structural events. Through both qualitative and quantitative experiments on real-world datasets, the effectiveness of the disclosed methods are demonstrated.

Abstract: A tool for redundancy and recovery for a mobile device. The tool probes for one or more available resources on the mobile device, wherein probing for the one or more available resources includes gathering diagnostic information related to the one or more available resources. The tool determines a device functionality for the mobile device, wherein the device functionality is an energy conscious recovery plan including one or more features available on the mobile device. The tool scavenges for at least one resource to support the device functionality for the mobile device. The tool restores the device functionality for the mobile device, wherein restoring the device functionality includes utilizing the at least one resource and one or more energy conscious techniques.

Abstract: Devices, methods and instructions encoded on computer readable medium for implementation of a dual-adjacency between edge devices of a network site. A first edge device comprises one or more local interfaces configured for communication, via a local network, with one or more network devices co-located in a first network site. The first edge device also comprises one or more overlay interfaces configured for communication, via a core network, with one or more network devices located in one or more other network sites connected to the core network. The first edge device comprises a processor configured to establish, via at least one of the local interfaces, a site communication channel with a second edge device co-located in the first network site. The processor is further configured to establish an overlay communication channel, via at least one of the overlay interfaces, with the second edge device.
