    Abstract: A connector is provided for mounting on a circuit board. The connector includes a body member and rows of first and second electrical contact pins coupled to the body member. The first contact pins are configured to extend downwardly below a bottom wall of the body member so that they align with the bottom wall to define an acute included angle therebetween. The second contact pins are configured to extend downwardly below the bottom wall in splayed relation to the first electrical contact pins and are aligned with the bottom wall to define an obtuse included angle therebetween. The first and second contact pins are made of spring material and cooperate to define a spring clip for yieldably drawing the bottom wall of the body member into seating engagement with the circuit board upon insertion of the first and second electrical contact pins into a pair of pin-receiving apertures formed in the circuit board.

    Abstract: The printed circuit board (PCB) is provided with a plurality of square connector stakes, which are pressed into the respective holes disposed in the PCB. The connector stake holes are arranged on the PCB such that a conductive pad encircles each of the connector holes. The connector holes have a cross-section that provides the required mechanical interference between the connector stakes and the connector holes to hold the stakes in place prior to soldering. At the same time, the walls of the holes are configured to limit the flux from migrating to the upper portions of the connector stakes during the wave soldering operation.

    Abstract: This invention provides a snap-in terminal for electrical connection between an external conductor and a conductive film deposited on a nonconductive substrate. The terminal is stamped from a flat sheet of resilient conductive material and comprises a center position having a forward extension to which the external conductor may be attached and a rearward extension curved downward for establishing electrical contact with the film on the substrate, and a plurality of legs extending outward from the center portion and bent about 90.degree. downward from the center portion, each leg having at its terminus a tab. The terminal is installed by inserting the legs into a slot in the substrate contiguous with the film. The tabs deflect to fit within the restricted space of the slot and then recover their original position as they emerge from the slot at the bottom of the substrate, thereby securing the terminal to the substrate.

    Abstract: The lead configuration of an electrical component is such that one of the leads locks into position in an aperture of a wiring board when the unit is inserted therein with nominal pressure. This configuration allows the unit to slide only so far into the aperture before it locks in place, thereby prohibiting the unit from being inserted any further, or from falling out of position if the board were inverted. These units remain locked in an upright position on the wiring board for the purpose of being further secured thereon, as by wave soldering.

    Abstract: A plug contact for electrically contacting a circuit board by inserting the plug contact into a via hole in the circuit board, the plug contact having two flat contact arms that are resilient relative to each other, and a connecting region, from which the two contact arms extend in the plug-in direction of the plug contact, the plug contact being punched as a single piece from a flat metallic material. In the connection region, adjacent to the two contact arms, a recess is formed in the plug contact, the distance between the two contact arms increases from the recess towards the free ends of the contact arms, the two contact arms being spread apart relative to each other and the two contact arms together having a width which is the same as or only slightly smaller than the diameter of the corresponding via hole in the circuit board.
