Abstract:
An improvement in a tension mask type color cathode ray tube comprising an envelope funnel that includes a bell portion, one extremity of which has a sealing land. The tube further comprises a flat face panel formed of a material having a predetermined temperature coefficient of expansion. The panel has a target area adapted to receive a pattern of luminescent color phosphor deposits. A sealing surface circumscribes the target areas. The improvement concerns a constituent structure which is disposed between the funnel sealing land and the panel sealing surface and which is frit sealed therebetween. The structure defines a central opening which is dimensioned to enclose the panel target area and it is formed of a material having a temperature coefficient of expansion approximating that of the face panel. The structure itself comprises means which define a support surface that confronts the target, which surface is adapted to fixedly receive a tensed color selection mask. Additionally, the structure includes means that serve to establish the tensed mask at a predetermined Q distance from the target area.
Abstract:
A television pick-up tube includes a mesh assembly comprising a pair of superimposed support members having mutually adjacent support surfaces with a mesh electrode secured therebetween. Each of the support members has a centrally disposed aperture therethrough. The apertures are of a different size so that a portion of the support surface of one of the support members extends radially inwardly of the aperture in the other support member. The radially inwardly extending portion of the support surface has a fusion-resistant film of material thereon to prevent the mesh electrode from sticking thereto during the mesh assembly procedure. A method for forming the fusion-resistant film is also disclosed.

Abstract:
A field emission light source device, comprising: cathode plate comprising substrate and cathode conductive layer disposed on surface of substrate, and anode plate comprising base formed from transparent ceramic material and anode conductive layer disposed on one surface of base, and insulating support member by which cathode plate and anode plate are integrally fixed, and vacuum-tight chamber formed with anode plate, cathode plate and insulating support member; anode conductive layer and the cathode plate are disposed opposite each other. Because of advantages of good electrical conductivity, high light transmittance, stable electron-impact resistance performance and uniform luminescence, using transparent ceramic as the base of the anode plate in the field emission light source device can increase electron beam excitation efficiency effectively, increase light extraction efficiency of the field emission light source device, and finally increase its luminous efficiency. A manufacturing method of the field emission light source device is also provided.

A display that includes the electron emission device is also disclosed.
Abstract:
In an organic EL display device comprising a substrate, a plurality of pixel regions in each of which a first electrode, a light emitting material layer, and a second electrode are laminated in this order above the substrate, and a bank film formed above the substrate to separate respective one of the pixel regions from another of the pixel regions adjacent thereto, wherein the bank film has a plurality of openings exposing upper surfaces of the first electrodes to the light emitting material layers in the respective pixel regions, and the second electrode is formed over the a plurality of openings of the bank film in common with the pixel regions, the present invention forms the bank film of an inorganic material and shapes a side wall thereof lying around each of the openings thereof to be sloped at an angle less than 85 degrees (°) with respect to a principal surface of the substrate in order to prevent the deterioration of the light emitting material layer and disconnection of the second electrode at steps of bank film lying in the vicinity of the openings thereof.
