    Abstract: An electrical heater is provided, which comprises a ceramic monolith and a metal resistance wire supported on the ceramic monolith. At least a portion of the metal resistance wire, and optionally at least a portion of the ceramic monolith, is coated with a ceramic coating. At least a portion of the ceramic coating is—in turn—impregnated with a catalytic metal. A process for manufacturing the electrical heater, and various uses of the heater are also provided.

    Abstract: Process and plant for producing a synthesis gas by catalytic steam reforming of a hydrocarbon feedstock in a steam reforming unit, further comprising a first and second shift conversion unit, wherein water is removed from the synthesis gas as a process condensate, wherein boiler feed water is introduced in the process, and wherein said process or plant produces at least two separate steam streams: a pure steam which is generated from at least a portion of said boiler feed water by the cooling of synthesis gas, and a process steam which is generated by evaporating at least a portion of the process condensate in a process condensate boiler (PC-boiler) by using synthesis gas, optionally together with pure steam and/or flue gas from the steam reforming unit. Process steam, and pure steam other than that from the PC boiler, are added to the first shift conversion unit, optionally also to the second second shift conversion unit.

    Abstract: Process and plant for producing hydrocarbon products from a solid renewable feed-stock, where in a thermal decomposition section such as a pyrolysis section for the treatment of the solid renewable feedstock, a pyrolysis off-gas stream and a pyrolysis oil stream are generated, and where after hydroprocessing of the pyrolysis oil in a hydroprocessing section, a hydrogen-rich stream and an off-gas stream comprising hydrocarbons are produced. A portion of the hydrogen-rich stream is used as a recycle gas stream in the hydroprocessing section for the production of said hydrocarbon products, such as naphtha and diesel, and another portion may be used for hydrogen production in a hydrogen producing unit, while the off-gas stream is used together with the pyrolysis off-stream in the hydrogen producing unit. The produced hydrogen, i.e. make-up hydrogen, is used in the hydroprocessing section.
