Abstract: An artificial muscle includes a first stress transmission part and a second stress transmission part, which are spaced apart from each other in a first direction, a contraction coil spring provided between the first and second stress transmission parts to pull the first and second stress transmission parts, and an expansion part provided between the first and second stress transmission parts to push the first and second stress transmission parts. The contraction coil spring has a shape of a spring progressing in the first direction, and the contraction coil spring is contracted by heat.

Abstract: Described are restraints, and methods of using and making the restraints, for restraining a man's testicular retraction response to sexual stimulation. It is believed that the restraints and methods of use thereby tend to slow or postpone the onset of the man's climax, with the potential to prolong the pleasure of the man and/or his sexual partner. More particularly, clip restraints and loop restraints are described and illustrated. The clip restraints are configured to grip a portion of the scrotum and to present deflection or obstruction features above the reposed positions of each of the man's testicles, configured to deflect or obstruct the movement of the testicles toward a retracted position associated with the onset of the man's sexual climax. Advantageously, clips according to the invention may fold to a narrow thickness, convenient for carrying in a pocket or wallet. Clip members of the restraints may be attracted by magnets, biased by springs, or manually adjusted to a stable gripping position. The loop restraints comprise left-hand and right-hand loops configured to extend around a portion of the scrotum and to define a restraint opening, confining at least a restrained portion of the respective testicle to one side of the restrained opening to limit retraction of the respective testicle through the opening in a direction toward the respective vas deferens.

Abstract: A leg support exoskeleton is strapped on as wearable device to support its user during squatting. The exoskeleton includes a knee joint connected to a first line and a second link, which is configured to allow flexion and extension motion between the first link and the second link. A force generator has a first end that is rotatably connected to the first link. A constraining mechanism is connected to the second link and has at least two operational positions. In a first operational position, the second end of the force generator engages the constraining mechanism, where the first link and the second link flex relative to each other. In a second operational position, the second end of the force generator does not engage the constraining mechanism; the first link and the second link are free to flex and extend relative to each other.

Abstract: A training apparatus includes a fixed frame, an training rod, a motor, a rotation information detection sensor, a tilt angle calculation unit, a feedback current detection unit, a position difference calculation unit, and a determination unit. The training rod tilts with at least one degree of freedom. The motor tilts the training rod. The rotation information detection sensor outputs an amount of rotation of the motor. The tilt angle calculation unit calculates a tilt angle. The feedback current detection unit detects a feedback current value. The position difference calculation unit calculates a position difference every time when a first time period elapses. The determination unit determines an error when the position difference generated during the first time period is a first threshold or higher, or when the feedback current value keeps a first current value or higher for a second time period or longer.

Abstract: A walking support robot is presented by the present disclosure. The walking support robot moves in accordance with a handle load while guiding a user to walk along a walking route. The walking support robot includes a body, a handle on the body, a sensor that senses a load applied to the handle, and a moving device that moves the walking support robot by controlling rotation of a rotating member in accordance with the load. Guide information is generated for guiding the user to walk along the walking route. Presented information is presented for guiding the user based on the guide information. A physical task is set by adjusting complexity of the walking route. A degree to which the user follows the walking route is calculated, and the physical task is adjusted based on the degree.

Abstract: Implantable devices and/or sensors can be wirelessly powered by controlling and propagating electromagnetic waves in a patient's tissue. Such implantable devices/sensors can be implanted at target locations in a patient, to stimulate areas such as the heart, brain, spinal cord, or muscle tissue, and/or to sense biological, physiological, chemical attributes of the blood, tissue, and other patient parameters. The propagating electromagnetic waves can be generated with sub-wavelength structures configured to manipulate evanescent fields outside of tissue to generate the propagating waves inside the tissue. Methods of use are also described.

Abstract: Described herein are embodiments of a system and a device for performing remote ischemic conditioning that may be configured to treat a subject in accordance with particular usage restrictions and/or a particular treatment protocol. More particularly, in some embodiments a RIC device may include at least two parts, an inflatable cuff to fit around a limb of a subject and a controller that operates the inflatable cuff to inflate and deflate and thus alternate between ischemia and reperfusion of the limb in accordance with a treatment protocol. The inflatable cuff may include a computer-readable storage and that storage may include usage restrictions and/or configuration settings for the controller, to configure the controller to operate the inflatable cuff in accordance with the usage restrictions and to perform a particular treatment protocol when operating the inflatable cuff.
